Some April Inspiration
Three Layouts to Share By Di Garling

 "Mia"

Hi there friends, thanks for stopping by.
Today I have three layouts to share with you & naturally I have used lots of
gorgeous 2Crafty chipboard.

2Crafty Products Used

A friend of mine has inspired me to try to do the whole "white space" thing.
Now for those of you that know my style, you will know that this is so left of centre
for me, BUT, I gave it a go and you know what, I LOVE it.

This gorgeous little munchkin is my Grandaughter Mia.
You will notice I have her name on my layout in chipboard, well
2Crafty will do specialty orders. Vanessa at 2Crafty made me a whole sheet
of the word Mia in all different fonts, so I have plenty to use.

All the chippies were firstly coated with gesso,
followed by a coat of simple acrylic paint.

The Mia word, the 2014 date & the mini hearts were also wiped over
with a little Stickles glitter to add some sparkle.

I think the main feature on this layout, apart from the photo of course,
would have to be the "Corner Delightfully Floral". Now as the name
implies it is a corner but I have cut it in two to make it a border strip instead.
How gorgeous is this chippie piece ??

  "A Glimpse of You"

Now this is a very special layout. I am going to become a Grandmother
for the second time in late September & this is the ultrasound photo.
It is not very clear but it is super special to us & I just had to scrap it.

All the chippie pieces were firstly given a coat of gesso.
That acts like an undercoat or primer & makes it much easier
to then colour & gives a bettter result too.
The hearts & border were then given a brushed on  coat of "Turquoise Blue" Glimmermist.
The words & hearts were coloured with some Kaisercraft "Candy" acrylic paint.
The foliage were coloured using some "Frayed Burlap" Distress Ink.

Love these new Lace Heart Frames & as you can see, I have put the
ultrasound photo in one & a sweet little quote in the other.

This title "A Glimpse of You"
is a new release item. I thought it was perfect for my layout.

I just love the way these Lace Heart Frames  match this Stitch Lace Border too.

Another new release item to the 2Crafty range is this Foliage Set #1
which I have added some bits here & there for a nice little accent.

Some more of that same Foliage Set #1 & a few Butterflies scattered around the page.

 "Right Here Right Now"

You may have already seen this one a few weeks ago. Now I don't often do boy layouts
but I have to say I was very happy with this one featuring my eldest son Beau.

Lots of grunge, texture & layers.

This 2Crafty title, Right Here Right Now was perfect for these photos.
I have coated it with gesso, Distress Ink, Gelatos, Mist.  I just kept
adding until I achieved the right colour & look I was after !!!

On these Interlocking Grid Panels I simply coloured them with a black ink pad & when
dry I added a little colour using a Versa Bronze Ink Pad to make it look like rust.
The perfect chipboard piece for a boy layout.

Well thats all from me for this month, see back here again in May.
