Let's start with a love-inspired layout (they ARE my favorite!)
dedicated to none other than... him. :)
As you can see, I did a lot of mixed media work on the left side of my layout
using different stencils, gesso, Glimmer Mists and Liquid pearls. I used the same
mixture on most of the chipboard pieces, adding some Distress Stains here
and there. Below, you can see that I used the Dainty Alphabet for my
title and adorned it with one of the very versatile Adornment Set 2.

I adore bracket shapes and the Frame Bracket Borders are a must-have.
You get 5 pieces in one and they are perfect to add a little something in the
corner of a layout where you need a little pizzazz.

In the next 2 images, you will see that I cut the rectangle Frame Flourish
and created 2 corners for my picture which I stitched on.

The next image shows more closely the grungy texture that the mix of gesso
(heated with a heat gun) and layers upon layers of different Distress Stains
have given my chipboard pieces, including this leafy wing shape from the
Adornment Set 1. Who knew that the rusted metal look could
be so endearing? hehe

And now, before I move on to my 2nd layout, one final look at... him.
Just Be You
Being a lover of the shabby chic style (which I've shared with you last month),
not surprisingly, I tend to do layouts that could be considered a bit more
feminine with loads of flowers, pearls and soft colors. It works out well too
since I have 2 beautiful nieces who are as girly as can be and who love all those things.
However, I also love to dabble in the more masculine side of scrapbooking a
s seen on this layout which features my friend Nathalie's son, Tristan, and the
Echo Park "Note To Self" collection.

Here's a great title from 2Crafty, Just Be You, which was treated the same
way as the chipboard on my first layout. The colors used this time
around gave the chipboard a more marbled effect. Sometimes I find that I
tend to use the same technique on my chippies over and over again
(which normally include either gesso or molding paste).
I tell myself, if it works, why stop?
I wanted to try something different on the background. I popped out all
the letters out of my Dainty Alphabet 12x12 sheet and used the actual
sheet over some patterned paper to add a silhouette effect across my page.
What's good about quality chipboard is that you don't want to waste any of it!

I used these Gears on many of my 2Crafty layouts and here are the last
of them. I guess I will just have to order some more!

Another very popular trend nowadays in the scrapbooking world
are Word Bubbles. These just fit in so perfectly with this layout and
just happen to describe little Tristan to a "T".

Look at that cute face!
I was so thrilled last month when I found out that 2Crafty Chipboard
would be sponsoring the October challenge at Scrap Around The World.
The October Mood Board was so pretty! I decided to turn the sketch
clockwise to better align my single-photo layout.

The first thing that inspired me
from the pretty images was the touch of blue admist
the white. I absolutely wanted to make the colour blue the central focus of my layout,
beginning with the Imagine Title.

All my 2Crafty
pieces were treated the same way, using molding paste, different
shades of blue Glimmer Mists and Smooch paint. I then dabbed them with white.

The picture of my niece Ella in her blue butterfly wings is definitely
a favorite of mine!

And there goes the end of my post. The months go flying by and I still can't
believe that I'm part of this wonderful Design Team and able to work with
such a wonderful inspiring product as 2Crafty. Every day, I find myself
looking forward to my next DT reveal. I already have plans for my
December creations and I hope you will join me on December 4th for
*hint hint* a little Holiday spirit.
