Sarah's August reveal

As you may know 2Crafty are sponsoring the CSI challenges for this month. As I am lucky enough to be on both design teams I have had a lot of fun as a 'double agent' cramming my CSI pages full of 2Crafty goodies!
Here are three of my pages that I would like to share with you today. Those of you who follow my blog will have seen all except one of these pages before.
Here is my first page based on CSI challenge #84

We are lucky enough to live a short way from the ocean and we spend a lot of time at the beach. this photo was taken a few weeks ago in the middle of our winter. Benji can stand gazing out to see for ages, he is fascinated by the waves. The 2Crafty chipboard fence and dandelion heads were a perfect accompaniment to the rustic feel of this page.

I painted both pieces with white distress paint, inked them with rusty hinge distress ink and added details to the dandelion seeds with a brown copic marker pen.

I used a beautiful 2Crafty phrase for my title - I have to admit that the phrases are my very favourite 2Crafty product. There is one to suit almost any page and they look amazing with just a quick coat of paint. Here I painted the title with white acrylic paint and sealed it with dimensional magic.

Another real cool product - and a firm favourite of mine, are these chevrons. You get heaps in a packet - enough for many pages (unless ofcourse you can't resist using the whole lot on one page!) They are a perfect way to draw attention to something on your page. Here I have simply painted them with white distress paint and inked the edges.

My second page today is based on CSI challenge #85.

I take a lot of photos so I always love a chance to to do a multi-photo page. These photos were taken on a recent kindy trip that Benji went on with his dad. The CSI colours really complemented the colours in the photos perfectly. Check out the 2Crafty chipboard that I used.

First again I chose my title- the word 'today' from 2Crafty's collection of phrases and words. I used it in conjunction with alpha stickers and 'Thickers' to make a long, interesting title phrase. I painted the word with black distress paint and coated it with dimensional magic.

The polaroid style frame highlighting Benji on the bus waiting to leave is another really versatile 2crafty product. I used a blue gelato to colour it and inked the edges. An October Afternoon sticker completed the look perfectly. Incidently when we returned home and I asked Benji what his favourite part of the trip had been he replied without hesitation 'the bus trip' :)

Finally the film strip is another item that matches many layout themes. I painted this with black distress paint and matted it on a row of OA tickets.

My last page is one that I have not yet revealed on my blog, but it is currenty on display at CSI as it is based on their current challenge.

Happy Days 86

I love this colour scheme - it seemed very light and summery to me, perfect for these carousel photos. Check out the 2Crafty carousel horse. How perfect is that to embellish this layout? I rubbed silver metallic paste over the entire horse and outlined it with a white paint pen. I then cut up a scrap of patterned paper to make the saddle cloth and finished it all off by coating the pole with gold metallic paste and making a set of reins from bakers twine.

My title is once again a chipboard phrase 'happy days' which I have painted black then outlined wiyh a white paint pen. The cool little 'view finder reel' is adorable and adds a little quirky touch in keeping with the carnival theme.

Thanks for stopping by to look at my projects this month. Do head over to CSI too - you could win some great 2crafty prizes.

Bye for now
Sarah xx
