Hi everyone...wow, it's 2013!!!
Happy New Year!
It's my turn today to share some of my layouts using a variety of
2crafty chipboard, so lets get right to it.
2crafty chipboard, so lets get right to it.
First up......
"Mayfield House"
A beautiful old house at Oberon, in NSW, that I was lucky enough to visit
on one of their open days back in October.
on one of their open days back in October.
{Don't forget that you can click on any of the images for a better close up view}
There are 5 pieces of fabulous 2crafty chipboard on this layout,
without it looking overcrowded & cluttered. The pieces are
I thought the Vintage Key well suited for my layout....it was first coated in Gesso,
then some texture paste added with a coat of painted Glimmermist {Sunshine}
to add some colour to tone in with the rest of the layout...
I then added a row of Kaisercraft Rhinestones to the top of the
key to finish it off.
I used the smallest of the Sybill's Name Plate {they come in a pack of 2}
for the base of my title, which was done in the same way as above,
replacing the Sunshine glimmermist with Key Lime glimmermist.
For the Skeleton Leaves I simply inked in Tim Holtz Black Soot Distress Ink,
then swiped gesso randomly over the leaves with my finger.
I love the distressed look this gives & these leaves are one of
my favourite 2crafty pieces :)
The Pretty Butterfly comes in pack of 6, which is great, as one can never
have too many butterflies in their stash! To get this effect, it was primed
in Gesso with some texture paste added...
then painted in Sunshine glimmermist and then I added a few
rhinestones to the body of the butterfly.
And finally, for the Fencing Wire Panel I cut off random pieces to fit
above & below my photo....inked them in Tim Holtz Black Soot Distress Ink
then swiped with gesso randomly.
Now for my 2nd layout....
"Always Believe in YOU"
The Wrought Iron Decorative Border is such a classic
piece of chipboard & I've tried to achieve a vintage wrought iron
look to it. To get this effect, I primed it in Gesso mixed with texture paste,
then I painted it with Slate glimmermist & finished it off with some
swipes of glimmermist here & there with my finger....
which I think came up quite nicely.
Another close up of the Wrought Iron border
I used the smaller of the 2 Doilies that come in the pack, and cut it into two
pieces & arranged at either side of my photos. Again, gesso & texture paste
as the base, then dabbed with a Copper Acrylic Paint dabber with a light inking
here & there to finish it off
This is the larger of the two Sybill's Name Plates, and again
I've used it as the base for my title.
It has the same technique & colour applied as the Wrought Iron border
for the scrolly bits & then the same as the Doilies
for the main part of the plate.
Now for my last layout...
"Along the Garden Path"
This was made for the November sketch at C'est Magnifique Kits,
using the gorgeous November kit that I won :)))
The 2crafty pieces on this layout are - Wrought Iron
& some leftover pieces from the Chicken Wire Panel
The gorgeous Wrought Iron piece was simply coated in gesso,
then painted in Honey Dew glimmermist with a touch of Walnut Stain
Distress Ink lightly inked randomly.
The same techniques were applied to the Chicken Wire Panel pieces.
