Hello everyone, Chantal Vandenberg's
First 2 Crafty post! :)

Hello and welcome to my first post on the 2Crafty blog!  I am so thrilled to be on this amazing team, and to be creating with such a vast and awesome array of chipboard!

I totally can't wait to share with you all what I've been up to, so without further ado, here they are...

My first layout is called "Only at Movie World" and I had an absolute blast creating this!  :D

I've rolled with the whole comic book vibe here, because of the colourful superhero characters!  So I've gone doodle-mad - outlining and doodling around everything within an inch of it's life... LOL!

So can you spot my 2 Crafty goodies?  Okay, I've used three arrows from this awesome 12" x 12" Themed Sheet on my layout...

At the bottom right  I've layered one larger arrow on top of the other.  The smaller arrow has been mounted with foam tape adhesive, just for a bit more "pop"!  These have been left raw and outlined around with a nice and thick black gel pen.

And at the top left I've used another arrow, which has been snipped short to suit my layout's design.  I have stuck a sticker on this arrow and I've chucked a cute felt flower layered with a paperclip and button on the other arrows.  Layering is super fun with 2 Crafty Chipboard because whilst the chipboard is sturdy and strong, it's also nice and thin so this means a lot of "bang" and less "bulk" for your creations.  ;)

As this photo is taken in movie world, I thought it only fitting to use some of the fantastic movie themed 2 Crafty Chipboard available in store.  Here I have used an Oversized Film Strip - painted black, adhered onto orange paper and doodled around on the outside edges of the orange paper; and I've used a 12" Film Strip - painted orange, backed with aqua paper, adhered on an angle on top of the Oversized Film Strip (in doing this it's top right corner has been snipped) and I've then doodled around and on top of this one.  I've also used two of the film strip gaps to journal inside.  :)

Okay, so now onto my next layout to share with you all, this one is called
"View from the Top"...

Another fun one!  So yep, that's me there - a big kid! :)  This layout has been based on a sketch at Creative Scrappers.

I am totally in love with that awesome 2 Crafty Ferris Wheel!  Don't you just love it?  I've given the Ferris Wheel two coats of heavy body acrylic paint (because it's heavy body it's much less transparent than regular acrylic paint) and once dried, I've outlined and doodled around the edges.  LOVE that Ferris Wheel! :D

and I've used 2 Crafty's Party banner as well on my layout (cut into two).  I've painted the banner and also used some washi tape (I trimmed the edges once it was adhered to the chipboard) to decorate the flags.  Some of the flags already have etched patterns so I've simply traced over most of those ones, and drew my own patterns on the others with a black gel pen.  The twine has been glued on top of the banner and tied into a large bow on each end.

I love how versatile chipboard is - I mean I love having colour themes for my layouts, mostly to suit the photographs, so to be able to alter them so easily with paints, inks, washi tape and the like is such a bonus.  Can't go wrong with that! ;)

And now for my last layout to share with you all on this post.  This layout is called "Sometimes a Conscious Effort has to be Made"... quite a mouthful, hey?!  This was based on a challenge at CSI...

I've also used 2 Crafty's Picket Fence on my layout, I've simply painted it white and once dried, I used a fine black gel pen to highlight the little "nails" in the fence.  These nails are actually already part of the chipboard's design, I've only outlined around them just to make them stand out more after painting over them. :)  The fence made a lovely feature for my layout and the little resin flowers look so cute lined along the base of it like that.

These 2 Crafty Clouds have been given texture with, would you believe, crochet doily trim!  I have simply glued some onto the chipboard, turned the chippie upside down to trim off the excess with fabric scissors, and then I painted some gesso over the top.  They look nice and chunky now, don't they?  Super fun! :)

I have used part of an 11" Floral Frame and painted it brown... love the flow and movement it creates.

Well there you have it!  My first post for 2 Crafty Chipboard.  I hope I've inspired you in some way.  There are sooo many wonderful chippy goodies in store and there are endless possibilities with them!  I really do hope you have a try for yourselves!  It's so much fun!
