2 tone cutesy birds–Susan

This month is my turn to show you a technique…as mine is fairly simple for dressing your chipboard I have done a step by step layout with some paint techniques too.

Cutesy Birds are my chipboard of choice for this Easter inspired layout.

Step1: to create the background… on a scrap bit on paper squirt some acrylic paint…then using the back of a mini square ink pad (I used a versa ink) …load with the paint and stamp randomly onto your cardstock.IMG_5802

Step2: Cut all your papers and with the tip of your finger smudge the edges with the same acrylic paint… then stick the papers down to the cardstock.IMG_5805

Step3: Smudge the edges of your photos with the paint too… and stick them down to your layout… add some ribbon and a flower.IMG_5807

Step 4: Stick your title down …I have used 2 Crafty Alphas painted in the same acrylic paint and outlines with a white signo pen….to finish your chip pieces… spritz with glimmer mist in one colour over the top half of the chip piece…then spritz in a different colour over the bottom of the chip piece…this will create a blended effect on your piece…as where the colours overlap you will get another tone of mist. Once treated let the chipboard dry and stick it to your layout.IMG_5817
