Dream Imagine Inspire
by Robin Schelin

Hi everyone. I'm sharing my last layout for June. Where has the time gone.....

I've had this photo for years and never scrapped it because of the blue background on the photo. I couldn't figure out how to make it look right. I thought of using a red background or a white one, but when I tried them, it looked really bad. Really bad!!

So I took the photo back out again, and I pulled out paper after paper after paper...  trying to get something that would work. Then I came across a pack of blue paper and found something that's really close to the blue on the photo. I messed with it for a few days, and this is what landed! Hope you like.

Dream Imagine Inspire

Wonderful Chippies I used:

Leafy Shrub Set 3

Leafy Shrub Set 1

Foliage Set 15

6" Circle Revolution Frames

ACT Words

All of the Chipboard was first painted with White Gesso.

On the top right, above the photo, I placed one of the swirls from the Leafy Shrub Set 3. I painted it with  Burnt Sienna Acrylic Paint. I painted all the swirls the same, I thought it would be more balanced. Want to know how anal I am?? I painted the swirls this color because of color of the teeny little hat band on her hat. I thought ...why not.

Under the flowers is one of the foliage stems from the Foliage Set 15. These are my "go to" fillers. I painted the stems with Burnt Sienna, and the bulbs with a mix of Burnt Sienna, Rose Pink, Cadmium Red Light Hue and Titanium White Acrylic Paint. I painted the bulbs this color to match the petals on the die cut flowers.

Here on the left is one of the swirls from the Leafy Shrub Set 1.  I placed it here to break up the blue background. I also tucked in another foliage stem from the Foliage Set 15 to create balance.

On the bottom left under the flowers I added in one more Swirl from the Leafy Shrub Set 3.  This was to draw the eye down along the burlap laser cut piece.

I circled the lady with the largest circle in the 6" Circle Revolution Frames pack. This was to draw attention to her. I painted it with Titanium White Acrylic Paint.

I placed the title, Dream Imagine Inspire from the ATC Words pack directly on the photo. I did the title this way to break up ALL. THAT. BLUE! I really like how it turned out. I painted these words with the same mix that I painted the bulbs on the Foliage Set 15 pieces.

Hope this has inspired you to take out those photos that you second guess yourself for even getting, and give it a go. You may surprise yourself at how it turns out. I certainly was surprised at this one!

See you next month
