Hi everyone.
I'm back to share more 2Crafty gorgeousness with you on this beautiful Spring day! I love this time of year. Colorado's Spring weather is really iffy... you never know what it's going to be from day to day. But today the sun is shining and the breeze is warm.
Pure Happiness
Gorgeous 2Crafty chippies I used:
Foliage Set 16
Brush Nut Floral Clusters
Old Fence
Pure Happiness
All of the chipboard was first painted with White Gesso to give it a solid base before altering.
Starting at the top of the layout, between the photos, I placed some flowers and foliage. Underneath them I added in one of the Foliage Set 16 pieces. I paint the stems with Spanish Moss Chalk Paint. The bulbs with a mix of Sheepskin and Barely Pink Chalk Paint to match the flowers.
I used pieces of the Foliage Set 16 in various places around the layout. All of them were altered the same way to create harmony of color.
In the background, on both sides of the photos, I used the ever so wonderful Old Fence. 2Crafty offers several fence pieces, but I think this one is my favorite. It just adds so much character to any project.
I first painted it with Burnt Umber Acrylic Paint. Then I painted over that with Deco Art Weathered Wood Crackling Medium. After I let that dry, I painted it with a mixture of Burnt Umber and Unbleached Titanium Acrylic Paint. And like magic... Old Fence!
On top of the fence, I placed one of the Brush Nut Clusters. I painted the stems with my all time go to green paint, Spanish Moss Chalk Paint. It just seems to go anywhere, it's a great color. I painted the nuts with 'Bear' from the Prima Woodlands Water Color Set. This added in contrast of color and created depth. Again, I used another Brush Nut Cluster on the other side of the photos, and it was altered the same.
Everything on the left of the photos is re-created on the right. I like to do this on most of my layouts to create balance. And I think it makes it easier for the eye to catch the whole picture at once.
The title, Pure Happiness, captures the joy of every child who swings on a swing! It was perfect for this layout. I simply painted it with White Adirondack Chalk Paint so it would stand out against the other colors. I like for my titles to be easily seen, so I often paint them white because white goes with anything.
I hope you like this happy layout and that I've inspired you. See you back again in a few days with more from 2Crafty.
xx
