My boys share my love of the ocean and on holidays especially, enjoy
fishing together. I love mixing resin and chipboard for texture in creating
my beach scene. After coating all my pieces in Gesso I can set about
bringing them to life.

Fern Leaf set
I cut the Old Fence in half to sit either side of my photo and then used
my watercolours from light to dark brown to achieve a worn finish.
A coat of dry Gesso at the end gave it the old wood look.
Poking out from the Old Fence above it is some of the Fern Leaves which
I used a Metallic Green Watercolour with a Silver on the edges.
This Clock Face is the smallest in the set and I used it as focal point
to mark this moment in time. Surrounding the Nautical Resin piece
it pops with its coat of Silver watercolour.
The other side of the photo has the rest of the Fence and Fern Leaves
to balance it out. Next to it is the Line Word- Good Day which I gave
an Ombre finish to with some shades of Aqua and a dry brush of Gesso
to finish once it was dry. brings ion the colours of the Shells but a
darker tone so it pops on the side of my layout.
Creating a feature on the right hand corner of my layout I wanted to sit
the Crab on something so the Ship's Wheel from the Anchor & Buoy set
seemed appropriate for my theme. I used a shade of Taupe Watercolour
and added more to the outside and middle for colour variance.
Finishing the layout with Art Stones over the 2Crafty Chipboard and
Resin pieces gave it a real beauty vibe and added more texture. I hope
this layout has taken you to the beach and made you feel relaxed.
