hello SUNSHINE
by Robin Schelin

Hi everyone, so glad you dropped in today.

Well, I'm still in a Summer state of mind these days. It's just soooo cold outside in the beautiful state of Colorado. Snow is pretty as long as I don't have to be out in it! So I close my eyes and dream about warmth and sunshine.

hello SUNSHINE

2Crafty Chipboard on this layout:

Word Circle Set 1

Foliage Set 15

Your Smile is like SUNSHINE

Frame Doodled

As is my thing, I always give my chipboard a good coating of white Gesso before altering. This makes the mediums adhere better and not soak through the chipboard. It also insures true color.

I love the Frame Doodled frame set. So cute and whimsical. I painted it with Sheepskin Chalk Paint and then glued it on top of a piece of green paper. There was so much that was tucked in underneath the frame that it got lost by itself. Adding the green paper allowed it to be seen.

Above the frame I added the word 'hello' from the Word Circle Set 1. I cut the circle off the word because it was a little too big with it on. I painted it with a blend of Cadmium Yellow Medium Hue. Yellow Ochre and White Acrylic Paint.

Tucked in among the flowers are a couple stems from the Foliage Set 15. These little pieces are so perfect to add interest and dimension to the flower clusters. The stems were left with the White Gesso on them and the little bulbs were painted the same as the word 'hello' up top.

I added another one of the Foliage set 15 pieces here on the top right tucked in under the flowers as well to create balance.

As I often do, to fit in my space, I cut the title. I only used the word 'SUNSHINE' from the title Your Smile is like SUNSHINE. I used 'Your Smile' on a layout a while back. 'SUNSHINE' was painted with the same blend of colors as the word 'smile' at the top of the photo.
It's ok to cut up your chipboard to make it work on your projects. I do it quite a lot, actually. But I aways save my bits and pieces to use on other projects. You can make your chipboard go a long way by customizing it to fit your needs.

So that's it. Summer wishes on a dark and dreary day!
Hope you like it. I had fun creating it thinking of the lazy days of Summer!
