this is A Moment to Treasure
by Robin Schelin

Hi everyone, so glad you could drop by. Today I'm sharing my last layout for January.

Where I live in Colorado, it's very cold with snow on the ground. When it gets this cold, I either create winter layouts because that is my reality, or summer ones because I wish THAT was my reality! This time I opted for the latter because I'm already over it!

A moment to Treasure

ATC Hearts Funky

All of the chipboard was given a nice spread with White Gesso before painting.

The star of this show is the 11" Round Flourish Frame. This is truly a beautiful piece. I think it's perfect to accent this design.

I painted it with a mixture of Barcelona Beige, Sandstorm, Oatmeal, Sheepskin, and a touch of Metallic Copper Chalk Paints. I just kept playing around with the paints until I got to a color I could live with! I wanted it to highlight her hair color and the browns of the beehive.

On the upper right, I placed 2 of the ATC Hearts Funky on top of the flower cluster, painting them the same as the 11" Round Flourish Frame. After they were dry, I feathered on a little White Gesso on the edges using a fan brush.

I cut the words 'this and is' off the title happiness is this and glue them on the hearts. Not only did this add to the title of the layout, but added a little more interest to this corner of the photo. These was painted with White Adirondack Chalk Paint.

I placed the main title, A Moment to Treasure, at the bottom slightly over the photo to draw the design down and fill in the area underneath it. This was also painted with White Adirondack Chalk Paint to unify the title.

And there it is, a little bit of summer and warmth on a cold dismal day! Hope you like it. I'll be back next month with another layout to share. Might be a Winter one, might be a Summer one, might be neither! We'll see how the wind blows!
