Santa Paws
by Robin Schelin

Hi everybody, Welcome back to the blog.

Well, it's the middle of December and Christmas will be here before you know it! Christmas has always included my furry little friends. They get their own stockings full of toys along with special holiday treats.

 Say hello to "Santa" Jack!

Santa Paws

Fabulous 2crafty Chipboard I used:

Swirly Holly Set

Little Pawprint Strip

Waiting for Santa

As always, Gesso first, alter after!

So, who doesn't love paw prints? This Little Pawprint Strip was perfect for this layout. Perfect for any layout about dogs, actually. They make the layout that much more special.

I cut the Little Pawprint Strip into individual pieces and used 3 of them on the sides of the photo. I first painted them with White Acrylic Paint, then sprinkled them with Ranger Clear Rock Candy Dry Glitter.

I also cut up the Swirly Holly Set and placed one of the swirls here between the paw pints. This I heat embossed with Ranger Red Tinsel Embossing Powder, leaving the snowflake altered the same as the paw prints.

I mimicked the lower left to be the same as the upper right for balance. Both the paw prints and the swirls are very sparkly, although it's hard to see in the photos. I really like embossing and using glitter on Christmas layouts. So festive and happy!

For the title, I cut again! I only used the word "Santa" from the title Waiting for Santa. Every time I cut up a title, I save the unused words to use on another project, so nothing gets wasted. I painted Santa with a mixture of Gold and Bronze Acrylic Paint. I did it this color to play off the color of the ornaments at the upper left of the layout. I try to balance out the colors as best I can so it flows better.

I added the word 'Paws' underneath 'Santa', well, because he's a dog! And it rhymes with Claus!! These are from the Tim Holtz Ideology Alpha Parts letters. They are made of black plastic, so no altering needed.

And that's it. My second layout of the season. I will be back with one more Christmas layout later in the month. I know we are all busy during the Holidays, but I hope you can find the time to create Christmas memories of your own. If not, get those photos taken so they are ready when you are!
