Hi everyone, Robin back again to share another layout with you.
When I saw this paper, I had to have it to be the backdrop for this gorgeous chipboard!
I mean, what could be more perfect?
It's like 49 and Market made this paper especially for it!
Sometimes things just fall into place and the layout practically makes itself.
Love it when that happens.
Beyond Words
Hexagon frame Strips
Beyond Words
As always, I primed my chipboard with Gesso before painting. Gives a great base for altering.
The star of this show, of course, is the fabulous Hexagon Frame Strips. What a great background it gives for this photo! All I did was paint it with White Adirondack Chalk Paint. I love how it plays off the hexagons on the paper. Perfect!
I used both pieces in the Hexagon Frame Strips to completely frame the photo and embellishments. I added a few pearls from E Line Pearls and Crystals from Prima inside the hexagons at the top and bottom for a little interest. I love how this turned out.
The title, Beyond Words, was painted in an ombre effect to capture both the yellow and white of the flowers. I first painted it with a mix of Naples Yellow Hue and Primary Yellow Acrylic Paint. Then I dabbed over the center with White Gesso.
I decided to use 2 of the solid butterflies from the Mollie's Butterfly Set to add dimension and make the butterflies stand out more. I painted them with White Adirondack Chalk Paint.
Here's the other butterfly with one of the Mollie's Butterfly Set solids underneath it.
Hope you like this and are inspired to surround your photo with chipboard to get an overall stunning result!
Be back next month to share more from 2Crafty.
