Happiness is... Making Memories with Friends by Robin Schelin

Hi everyone, so glad you stopped by. 

There are certain people in your life that you would do anything for and anything with. This photo reminds me of a couple of friends I had when I was going through high school. We were inseparable. We did everything together. But we grew up. We got married and had kids, or went to college, had careers or just moved away from each other. Life took hold and over the years we eventually lost touch. 

I don't have any good photos of us together, we didn't have cell phones back then. The only photos I have are old instamatic ones that are long faded over time. Even though this photo is not of us, it brought back memories of good times.

As always, a good coating of Gesso was applied to all the chipboard before altering.

I love this lamp post. I have been to Paris, and they are everywhere. You can even see them on the bridge here. So, it seemed fitting to add one of the Tangled Lamp Posts to this layout. I painted the post with a mix of Pewter and Naples Yellow Red Acrylic Paint. The swirls were pained with a blend of Pewter and Natural Gray and the little buds painted with Sheepskin Chalk Paint.

I added in one of the Mini Flourish Bits next to the lamp post to extend the swirls into it. I painted it with the same mix as the swirls on the lamp post.

I added another piece from the Mini Flourish Bits here at the upper right of the photo under the flowers to bring balance and just add more swirly goodness.

I am notorious for cutting up chipboard! If I can't find the title that I'm imagining, I will cut up other titles and make it. I did that here. I used the word 'with' from the title living everyday with intention, and 'Friends' from Friends are the Sunshine of Life. One of the reasons I cut them up is that some of them are too big for the space I've left for the title. That is one of the great things about 2Crafty titles, you can customize them to fit your needs.

 I painted 'with' using Maple Yellow Red Acrylic Paint, and 'Friends' with Pewter and Natural Gray Acrylic Paint. This was to play off the color of the word strips up top.

I also cut 2 hearts from the Beaded Hanging Heart Set and placed them below the title. These were painted the same as the title above it.
