World Traveller
by Robin Schelin

Hi everybody, welcome to the blog. Glad you stopped by.

My dad and ex husband were in the military, so I did a bit of globe hopping back in the day. Nothing glamorous like this chickie, that's for sure, but I did get to see some amazing places.

These chipboard pieces worked perfectly with these photos. You can always count on 2Crafty to have the right pieces for any theme!

World  Traveller

Beautiful 2Crafty used:

World Globe

Cherri's Border

Fine Flower Adornment Set 1

World Traveller

I only used Black Gesso on the chipboard this time since everything was altered in darker colors.

Ok, starting with this fabulous World Globe. This piece is so detailed, I love it! First I covered the whole thing with Black Gesso. Then I mixed up Raw Sienna and Burnt Sienna and covered the land areas with a very thick application. I wanted to give it a topographical dimensional look. It's not topographically  correct, of course, because I am not a topographer. Ha! Big words there! Anyway, I got enough raised areas that you get the idea.

I also cut a leaf off the Fine Flower Adornment Set 1 and placed it next to the globe. This was just painted with Black Gesso.

I used Cherri's Border to create separation between the light and dark paper. I think it adds more interest this way than just leaving it plain.  This was simply painted with Black Gesso. Easy.

The title, World Traveller, was perfect with these photos. Couldn't have asked for anything better. 'World' was painted with Black Gesso and 'Traveller' was painted with the same mix of paint as the globe.

I added the flower part of the Fine Flower Adornment Set 1 next to the leaves and underneath the flowers to bring interest and balance to the bottom of the layout. As with all the black on the chipboard, this was also painted only with Black Gesso.

Hope you like this traveling layout. I had fun creating it. A little bit different from my usual stuff, but it's good to try different things once in a while. Keeps the mind sharp!

Until next time
