Memories
by Robin Schelin

Hi Everyone. Thanks for dropping by today.

I'm sharing a simple layout about a summer day. Just sitting in a field of daisies. What could be more relaxing. I was in a lazy fame of mind when I created this. Something simple, no stress. Remembering times as a child when I didn't have worry in the world! I miss those times.

2Crafty Chipboard used:

Grid Panel

Memories Script Title

Old Fence

I used Gesso to prime all the chipboard. My go-to primer medium.

At the top of the layout I cut a piece off of the Grid Panel and tucked it in. I wanted to add a vertical element to the composition. I painted it with a mix of Unbleached Titanium and Parchment Acrylic Paint to match the color of her dress.

I love the Old Fence. Not only does it look old in its raw state, but it alters up wonderfully to look, well, old! I cut it in half and placed it at both sides of the photo.

Here's the other side of the photo with the fence. I painted it first with Burnt Umber Acrylic Paint. Then painted it with Deco Art Weathered Wood Crackling Medium. When that was dry I painted over that with a mix of Burnt Umber and Unbleached Titanium Acrylic Paint. And like magic, I got an old fence!

I used the title Memories because this reminds me of times gone by in my own childhood. I have lived in the country before and have spent my fair share amount of time in fields of flowers. (Although I was usually covered in dirt from digging them up!) I painted the title combining Chrome Oxide, Yellow Ochre and Unbleached Titanium.

Then beneath the title, I added another piece of the Grid Panel, again adding the vertical element to balance with the top.

Hope you like this and that it has inspired you to reflect on your own childhood and scrap layouts that take you back in time. Good memories.

See you next time
