Our Sweet Girl
by Robin Schelin

Hi everyone, welcome back to the blog.

Today I'm sharing my first layout for May. Can you believe it?? This year is almost half over already! Time certainly does fly the older you get.

I went through my stash and pulled out some very old papers (from at least 10 years ago), and decided I should use them before they disintegrate! Most of my old papers and embelleies stay tucked away because trends change and the newer stuff is more fun to work with. But there are some tried and true designs that are timeless. Just have to go hunting through your stash!

Our Sweet Girl

Textured Tile Bits

Our Sweet Girl

Hand Drawn flowers

As always, I coated my chippie pieces with Gesso before altering,

I used one of my favorite pieces on the top and bottom of the photo, the Textured Tile Bits. These little gems are perfect to add texture (as the name implies!) They are the perfect size to add in just about anywhere on your project. I painted them with Neutral Gray Acrylic Paint.

Also, you can see some of the leaves from the Hand Drawn Flowers.

I cut them from the flowers and tucked them in here and the left of the photo.

Here are more of the leaves from the Hand Drawn Flowers. I like that they are small and fit in well with the flowers. I painted them with a mix of Yellow Ochre and Raw Sienna Acrylic Paint. I tired to pull from the Orange in the leaves of the rub-ons surrounding the composition. I dabbed on a little White Gesso then  glued them to green paper.

I kept the title Our Sweet Girl simple, and just painted it with White Acrylic Paint.
Then added more Textured Tile Bits underneath.

Hope you like this and are challenged to dig out your old papers and embellishments
 and give them new life!

Until next time xx
