Hello everyone and Merry Christmas!
Christmas is just a couple days away, are you ready? Are we ever ready??
Today I'm sharing my last layout for 2022. I usually create my Christmas Layouts using traditional Christmas colors, this time I wanted to try something different. Hope you like it!
"Christmas Wishes"
Fabulous 2Crafty I used:
11" Round Flourish Frame
Crystal Snowflakes
Snowball Tree
Foliage Set 8
Leafy Rounds
Christmas Wishes & Mistletoe Kisses
To start with, as always, the chipboard was first given a good coat of White Gesso.
Starting with the absolutely gorgeous 11" Round Floral Frame. I first painted it with Deep Turquoise Acrylic Paint, then I dabbed over it with Blue and White Acrylic Paint. The background paper has a kind of marble effect which is so pretty. I wanted to match the colors of the paper and create a subtle softness with the frame encircling the composition. I love this frame!!
Here is half of one of the Leafy Rounds. I painted it with Deep Turquoise Acrylic Paint, then sprinkled it with Distress Stickles Dry Glitter while still wet, and tucked it in under the flowers.
Then I added 2 of the Crystal Snowflakes to the top and bottom of the cluster. These were first painted with White Acrylic Paint, then sprinkled with Distress Stickles Dry glitter.
This Snowball Tree was perfect for adding texture and color balance to the right side of the photo. I cut it up a little and used the rest of it at the bottom of the photo. I painted the branches with White Acrylic Paint to make the little snowballs pop. The snowballs were first painted with Deep Turquoise Acrylic Paint then I sprinkled them with Distress Stickles Dry Glitter while still wet. I love how it adds a little bit of whimsy to the layout.
I placed the other half of the Leafy Round under an old cardboard deer from my stash that I've had for at least a decade. (Throw NOTHING away!!)
Here is the rest of the Snowball Tree. I cut the center branches out to use here, and the rest up at the right of the photo. Don't be afraid to cut up the chipboard. You can really make your chipboard go far by cutting them. A lot of the time most of it will be buried under embellishments anyway, so cut out the parts that would be buried and use them somewhere else on the layout.
Tucked in under the flowers are pieces from the Foliage Set 8. I added them to break up the blue and to add another pop factor. These were Heat Embossed with White Ultra Thick Embossing Powder.
I cut the words 'Christmas Wishes' from the title piece Christmas Wishes & Mistletoe Kisses. I only wanted a small title in this space. I can use 'Mistletoe Kisses' on another project. This was also painted with Deep Turquoise Acrylic Paint and dusted with Distress Stickles Dry Glitter in keeping with flow of color on this layout.
Lastly, I added another Crystal Snowflake under the title.
So there it is, bringing 2022 to an end. I hope you all have had a wonderful, creative year using your 2Crafty chippies, and hope next year the team will bring new inspiration for your projects!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
