Delight in Every Moment
by Robin Schelin

Hi everybody. Thanks for stopping by the blog.

Today I'm sharing a summery layout because Summer is my favorite season!
For 3 months out of the year, I don't need to wear a coat or sweater!

Delight in Every Moment

2Crafty used:

11" Rose Flourish Frame

Foliage Set 15

Intertwined Swirly Hearts

Delight in Every Moment

On this layout's chipboard choices, I first primed them with White Gesso before painting.

I framed the whole composition with the fabulous 11" Rose Flourish Frame. It is beautifully intricate and adds so much texture. Plus it draws the eye right to the photo.

When thinking about how to alter this, I decided that I wanted the color to be as close to the color on the paper as possible. That way it blends well without being overpowering. Of course, to match the color of most background papers, you have to mix a lot of colors together, because most of the colors on the papers  do not come in a tube!

I played around with Cadmium Yellow Light Hue, Brilliant Yellow Green, Hookers Green Hue, Burnt Umber and Titanium white Acrylic Paints (whew!) to finally get a color that is really close to the green on the paper.

And here is my favorite little piece from the Foliage Set 15. I know I use them a lot, but they are just so great for adding interest and a touch of texture. I painted the stems with my other favorite, Spanish Moss Chalk Paint, and the bulbs with Burnt Umber Acrylic Paint. I wanted them to pop against the flowers, also  to play off the color of her hair.

I added in another stem from the Foliage Set 15 to the other side of the photo for balance.

The title, Delight in Every Moment, was also painted with Burnt Umber Acrylic Paint. I try to use the rule of "3's" whenever I can because I was taught that this lends to cohesiveness. So the title and the bulbs were altered the same.

Lastly, I placed one of the Intertwined Swirly Hearts on top of the bottom right of the photo. This is such a wonderfully whimsical little piece! I painted it with Titanium White Acrylic Paint, again using the rule of "3's" with the other 2 being the white flower clusters.

And that's it. Hope you like it and that it inspires you.
See you back again in a few weeks with more from 2Crafty.
