Captured Memories
By Charmane Sharp

When I saw the Beneath the Brambles new Arden Studios collection, I loved
that it included some worn papers that had very little floral elements. This
meant I could create a masculine layout with it. Inspired by the Hexagon
pattern on the green sheet of paper I cut a Hexagon from the worn neutral
paper and laid it over the green one for a unique background.

2Crafty Chipboard used…

Hexagon Outline Frames set
Steampunk Gear Border
Steampunk Gears Small
Steampunk Gears Medium
Giant Gears
Title- Captured Memories

By cutting the Steampunk Border piece into two, it meant I could place each
one on opposite sides of the Hexagon paper for a unique look. They were
embossed with a blended powder of metallics. Then I added some  loose Gears
that were embossed with the same metallic and black to add dimension.

A small cluster of Gears were combined from the Giant and small sets.
Allowing the other elements to all come together and be cohesive across
the layout.

Embossing the Hexagon Outline Frames in Black highlighted the boys in
their suits beautifully. They pulled the theme together perfectly for my son
standing on the Hummer he went to his school ball in.

To break up the other chipboard I embossed the title in Black and while hot
I sprinkled some Teal over the top and melted it to combine for a mottled
finish. I hope you have enjoyed taking a look at my Formal Gears layout
with metal accents.

Until next time...
