Hi everyone, thanks for dropping by the blog.
Today I'm sharing a simple little layout of my granddaughter, These photos are from a photo shoot done many years ago. She had such a silly personality. Serious, shy and goofy all at the same time! She was about 4 when these photos were taken, she's 21 now. Still a goofy kid!
Be True To You
2Crafty pieces used:
Wavy Filmstrip
Lattice Leaves
Be True to You
As always, the chippies were primed before painting.
I love the new Wavy Filmstrip. I love the straight ones too, but the wavy one ads a bit of whimsy to this layout. Fits her "wavy" personality! I painted this first with White Acrylic Paint, then dabbed over it with 49 & Market's Fossil Dye Ink. I want it to be similar to the grey background in the photos.
I don't know what happened to this photo. It has some scratches under her eye that I didn't notice till I enlarged this photo. But, what's done is done. Doesn't have to be perfect.
Here's the bottom of the Wavy Filmstrip. I placed the photos down following the curve of the filmstrip in keeping with its shape.
I tucked one of the Lattice Leaves into the flowers. I painted it with Spanish Moss Chalk Paint, then added a light green paper to the back of it. This was to give it more dimension.
I added another one of the Lattice Leaves to this flower cluster for balance. It was altered the same way.
I chose the title Be True to You because this is what she's always been. I painted it the same way I painted the Wavy Filmstrip, except that I went darker with the Fossil Dye Ink. I wanted it to stand out more, but be the same color.
Hope you like this simple layout. Don't be concerned if your photos aren't perfect. The ones with imperfections still make for the best memories.
See you back in a few weeks
xx
