Loving these Moments with You
by Robin Schelin

Hi everyone. Glad you stopped by today.

I'm sharing my last layout for August. Just a sweet photo of mother and daughter standing on a rock in a field. I love simple photos that illicit an emotion. Some make you laugh, some make you smile. Some bring back memories. This one made me smile. Hope you like it.

As always, hopefully not to sound redundant, prime your chipboard before altering. My fav to use is Gesso. White, black or even clear, it gives you a great base on which to add your color.

On this layout, I painted all the chipboard with Folk Art Home Decor Chalk Ultra Matte Acrylic Paint. Yes, this is furniture paint! I love the smooth finish on the chippies. No streaks or clumps. Love it!

At the top and bottom of this flower cluster, I placed pieces from the Foliage Set 14. I painted the little flowers with a mix of Nautical, Cascade and Grotto to complement the blues of the flowers. I painted the stems with Spanish Moss to get a dark green like the leaves.

Off to the side is the Foliage Set 15. The stems were painted with Spanish Moss and the bulbs painted with Adirondack White with a touch of Nautical to get a very light blue.

All of that was placed on top of the fabulous Aged Film strip. This was painted with a mix of Castle, Chateau and Adirondack White.

At the right top of the photo, I created basically the same flower cluster, using all the same chipboard pieces. This to create balance and symmetry. I really try to get my layouts to look balanced and not be all wonky! Easier to see the big picture.

The title, Loving these Moments with You, was simply painted with Adirondack White. It's a little brighter then the Film Strips, so stands out a little more. Hard to tell in these photos, but there is a slight difference.

Hope you like this and that I have I inspired you to try using different mediums to alter your chipboard. I would have never thought of using furniture paint if I hadn't seen my daughter use it to paint a cabinet!

See you all back next month.
