Loving YOU
by Robin Schelin

Hi everyone. Today I'm sharing my last layout for March.

I am ALL about ALL things canine. And have to say, that when I first saw this photo, my heart melted! I knew I had to scrap it.

I always pull the colors from the photo to created my layouts, I think that doing this is more pleasing to the eye. But this photo is basically just one color, so I had a hard time finding the right ones to use for the background and the embellishments. After searching through 'oh so much' stuff (you get it), I finally found the colors to compliment the photo. Some color schemes are easier for me than others. This is one of the 'others'.

"Loving YOU"

2Crafty Goodness used:

Spring Flower Bunches

10" Hexagon Frame Set

Perfect as YOU are

Loving THESE MOMENTS

As always, I primed my chipboard with Gesso before painting.

The 10" Hexagon Frame Set is absolutely fabulous! What an impact it gives this layout. Using it to frame the composition draws your eye straight to the photo. I simply painted it with bronze Acrylic Paint to match the other embellishments.

The flower cluster needed something to break up all the bronze and add some definition, so I placed a few of the Spring Flower Bunches amongst them. I painted them with a mix of White, Parchment and Raw Sienna Acrylic Paint.

I chose to use words from two different titles to make up this title. 'Loving' from Loving THESE MOMENTS, and 'YOU' from Perfect as YOU are. Sometimes I don't have room for one big title, so I will cut up the titles and just use a word or two. I needed to best utilize the space while still capturing the feel of the photo. This worked. I painted it with a mix of White and Parchment Acrylic Paint.

I hope you like this and that I have inspired you. Creating a monochromatic color scheme can be challenging, but so worth it!!

See you back in a few weeks with more from 2Crafty.
