Happy December Everyone!
It's the happiest time off the year and anticipation rules the day! I love doing Christmas layouts. I love the traditional colors, too. But for this layout I chose to go a different route and use browns and blues, pulling from the colors in the photo. Hope you like it!
"Christmas is in the Air"
2Crafty Chipboard used:
Holly Flourish
Crystal Snowflakes
Dangling Merry Christmas Sign
love is in the Air
Can't stress enough that a good coating of Gesso on the chipboard does wonders!
I love the Holly Flourish! So festive and just adds the right touch. I cut up the flourish and used it on several areas of the layout. Here is a little tucked in under the flowers. I painted it with Bronze Acrylic Paint.
Here also is one of the Crystal Snowflakes. These were also spread around the layout. I heat embossed them with White Ultra Thick Embossing Powder
Here on the right side of the photo, I added another piece of the Holly Flourish and another Crystal Snowflake on the photo frame.
This little do-dad was cut off of the Dangling Merry Christmas Sign. Rather than using the whole title, I cut it up. I do that a lot! I thought it would add a little interest and something different to the bottom of the composition. So I painted it with a mixture of Cerulean Blue and Neutral Gray Acrylic Paint and tucked it in under the flowers.
For the title, I used two 2Crafty titles. "Christmas" was cut off the Dangling Merry Christmas Sign, and "in the Air" was cut off love is in the Air. These were painted with the same mix of Cerulean Blue and Neutral Gray to match the do-dad under the flowers.
Then lastly, I added a couple holly leaves to accent the title.
This is my first Christmas layout this year. I will have a couple more later in the month. Thanks for stopping by, I look forward to sharing more Christmas goodness with you!
