Here are some close up photos on the chipboards used.
See how I made use of the border to simulate a hinge that hangs the
happy icon. Somehow it reminds me of a grandfather's clock.
I didn't want an opaque black outcome on the chipboard and still wanted the
white gesso to show. Thus I stamped with a black ink pad instead of painting
black paint all over it. You can have a good look at the effects of dabbing and
layering of paints onto the papers.
Rather than having one whole border strip going across the layout, I cut the border
in half and layered the two pieces on top of each another.
This is the fun part of chipboard. It doesn't mean that you have to stick to the
original look. There are many ways to play with chipboards that's why I'm
a huge fan of it I think!! Lol
