I used the Prima BAP this month as an inspiration for this layout. As a base for my layout I added 2 Crafty flower discs under the picture. I cut some of them in half, primed them with gesso and dabbed them with textured paste. Then I painted them with Shimmerz paints.
For the title I used a word from the Birthday Sentiments pack.
I simply covered the chipboard in pastel chalk ink.
Finally I used some summer leaf stems as fillers for the magical garden I created around the photo. I recently saw a tutorial by my friend Tracey Sabella. She dry embossed chipboard which I didn't know you could do. So I took it upon myself to learn how to do it and voila here is the result. I embossed the leaf stems in an embossing folder and then I covered them in green ink. I love the texture it created on each leaf.
"HAPPY YOU"
My second layout was created for the Prima PPP for March. The palette is fully green and it was perfect for creating another magical garden around this photo of my daughter. This time, the butterfly landed on her forehead. It looks as if shes wearing a hair clip but that's a real butterfly.
First I framed the picture in a Polaroid frame. I embossed the frame using a Tim Holtz butterfly embossing folder. I thought it fit the theme perfectly. Then I painted it in green to match the embellishments.
I also embossed this flag banner with the butterfly embossing folder and then proceeded to paint it in green too.
Finally I used the word "happy" from the summertime word collection pack.
"MY BOOK OF GRATITUDE"
My last project is a mini album I made recently for myself. Its a book to keep beside my bed so I can write in it all the things I'm thankful and grateful for.
I used a lot of 2 Crafty chipboard pieces for this mini-album.
First you can see the delicate butterflies which I covered in purple ink.
I also used the ornate window frame to decorate under the flowers
In this page above you can see how I framed the paper with Shirley's small frame.
I simply inked it in purple.
I used the bird bath unit for this page. I inked it in purple
and stamped it in white using a script stamp.
I used the thankful title for one of the pages but you can also
see the title when the book is closed.
For the last page, I used this ornate butterfly in the corner
so I can leave a lot of space for writing.
I hope you have enjoyed my creations!!
