The New Year has come, we have had many holidays, which
means that we have lots of new photos as well.
So today I want to share with you some projects inspired
but this merry time of year.
The first one is called
"Sweet Child of Mine"
I have used a black & white photo and some Wooden background papers,
as I wanted to have a rustic look. The techniques that I have
used here are quite simple. I didn't prime the chipboard
this time, I just covered it in spots with white crackle paint,
then I inked it with black and grey chalk ink.
I just did some more inking with black ink and decorated it
with lace for some added contrast. I also added the bulb as a symbol.
I added some bronze and blue sorbets with shimmer.
I've also cut some off the branch parts that were hidden
under the photo and placed them at the other side of the picture.
My Second Layout
"I Believe in Santa"
My second layout was inspired by the sweet fact that my
Darling Daughter still believes in Santa. I suppose that it won't last very long now,
so this is like a farewell to this, (may be) the last time!!
I want to thank Chantal Vandenberg for such a cool tip of stitching
the title onto the page. It makes the title look completed and accented.
I covered it with gesso randomly, then inked with black chalk and applied
some red glaze acrylic paint with my finger. Moreover I added
FWAB pearl on the top of the letter "i".
The same techniques were used on the other part of the title,
ie **Santa**. I also put it on top of the Reindeer with Sleigh,
that I primed with gesso first, then I embossed it with Antiquite
embossing powder and lined the (ornament?) with the black pen.
I wanted the title to pop up so I painted the gift sack with red acrylic paint.
I like experimenting with blending the colors so I did
the same on the Corner Elegant.
I covered it with the gesso, then inked heavily in black chalk ink .
After that I lined it with red paint marker and added some acrylic
red paint with my finger. Also I added some beads and pearls.
The last project that I want to share with you today is an
Altered Clock.
I have fallen in love with altering and making OTP projects,
after I discovered a vary talented artist, Miranda Edney.
So this clock is inspired by her gorgeous creations.
This is my project for Manor House Creations,
so I decorated the clock with their flowers and I have also used a
for my clock. I simply primed it with black gesso and decorated the
woman's figure with the heart. As this was originally the clock,
I added the watch hands too.
What I like most about this chipboard piece, are that the details
are so fine. I even have managed to get a shot of the woman's heel.
I hope I have inspired you to scrap your Christmas photos and
start creating something special for Valentine's Day.
