Good day, 2Crafty friends! Glad to see you here. Kelly here with a few projects to share!
Well, it's that time of year, and I will admit, that once Christmas is done and over with I am terrible about getting those Christmas photos scrapped. SO, that leaves them for the next year! Here is one I created of my oldest, Lilah, checking out the tree on Christmas Eve last year..
I used a whole bunch of 2Crafty pieces on this one. First I took the Merry & Bright Title and I cut it apart to fit my page better, as you can see above, and below. The title was first primed with gesso (as I do nearly all of my chippies to take color better) then painted with a mixture of red paint mixed with Glimmermist in rouge. I left the snowflakes on the title white, and added pearls to the centers.
Below you can see a couple of different pieces, underneath this cluster, but just barely visible is a leftover bit of one of the Doily Frames. Atop that I added a piece of Heidi's Vines, which was primed, misted with Olive Glimmermist, dabbed with more gesso, then painted with the same mixture as the title to resemble berries. The Frangy pieces were misted with the rouge color as well, painted around the edges with the red paint as well, then layered to (hopefully) resemble poinsettias.
When I had all in place, I took some silver Stickles on my finger tip and spread touches of the glitter here and there for some sparkle. I added in some gorgeous Green Tara flowers and Lace, some Liquid Pearls, and that was that! It was hard to capture in the photos but this layout really shines!
I will admit, I am not the best at scrapping occasions. I am more of an "everyday" scrapper. But I've been on a roll! Here is a "birthday" layout for my dear little niece, Aspen, who celebrated her first birthday back in September.
This sweet Sparrow Branch...I have held onto it for some time, not sure what I was to do with it. I started out painting it with gesso. Then I added some Martha Stewart Texture Effect with my finger. I painted the leaves with Olive Glimmermist, Smooch ink in Lettuce, and dabbed it with a green chalk ink as well. The branch I inked with brown chalk ink. I colored the bird with Gelatos in 2 shades of purple, then shaded around the edges in black, then gently painted with water on a clean paint brush to blend the colors.
The number 1 in the title came from Script Font L/C set, and the word Sweet came from the Friendship Mini Word Pack. I also colored those two pieces with Faber Castell Gelatos, so much fun! My new favorite way to alter chipboard, I believe. Very versatile. Which is why I also used them for the Window Frame piece you can see under my title and flower cluster, which I had used to ground my layout, but ended up covering up most of it! If you look at the main layout photo you can see another piece of it top right corner, too. I simply shaded around the edges of the frame and each square with the black Gelato, then painted it with water to blend it some.
Lastly, to leave you in the Christmas spirit, I'd like to share this canvas I made a while back...
On this canvas I used:
Flowers with Leaves, (I thought it looked "Christmasy") Brushstroke Tree, and Merry Christmas Title.
I hope you all are having a lovely holiday season!! If you are not already following us, please do so!! Also, check us out on our Facebook page, there's always an abundance of inspiration there, too!
