2Crafty goes 2Cute!
It's Chantal's turn to share!

Hello all you 2Crafty fans out there!

Today I am so excited to share with you all three of my recent layouts featuring
2Crafty chipboard.  So without further ado, here we go!

My first layout is called "Farmyard Friends"...

I had a lovely time using five of the cute animals from the six-pack Barnyard Animals on this one.  I painted them all with slightly watered down white acrylic paint, then once dried, I applied two coats of each colour with a small artist's brush.  Once the paint had dried, I then drew around all the outlines that were already etched into the chipboard with a Uniball Impact gel pen, and also around the inside shape too.  As long as your paint is not too thick, you should be able to easily see through the paint to outline the "features".  I finished off the animals with a pair of goggle eyes each.  I love the look it gives!

These barnyard animals really tie in well with my layout's theme... so it really helps the memory and photos come to life, I think.  I've got a sheep, pig, cow, hen and duck here... 2Crafty goes 2Cute! ;)

I have also used a Doily Border vertically to soften the straight edge of the patterned paper panel here.  I simply inked this with Tea Stain Distress Ink by Tim Holtz.

I am loving these chipboard frames at the moment!  The are awesome.  Here I have used two Tiny Funky Frames to frame my small photos - these frames have been inked and I've outlined the edges with a black gel pen.

I have also used two Polaroid Frames - these have been covered in woodgrain washi tape - super easy and I love the effect.  All you do is adhere the washi so the edges are flush with the inside of the frame and then just trim the outside edges with some decent scissors... (by that I mean sharp ones...Lol).

As my photos were a little smaller than the frames, I decided to peg and clip the photos to the outside edges of the frames on an angle... just keepin' it casual... barnyard style! ;)

Now onto my next layout... "Dream Big"

This one is called "Dream Big" and I've used sketch #230 from Creative Scrappers.  The sketch had me seeing stars (in a good way) and I have used up the whole pack of Stars.  I've painted all my stars with heavy body white acrylic paint, then once dried, I have applied two coats of coloured acrylic paint. I mixed the yellow myself because I didn't have the exact shade... I love this colour combo, do you?  I was so inspired by the photo, which led me to using that fab OA collection, "Sidewalks"... perfect for this photo.

I outlined around each star with a black gel pen and topped off the largest one with a funky star button (that I was lucky enough to have in my stash... BINGO!).  Lucky star! ;)

I enjoyed playing around with the stars on my page and I arranged them until they looked "just right".  I really like the look of the nested stars with the different colours... it was so much fun too!

I have used Dream Big as my title.  I have placed it on the "white space" of my photo and it has been misted with silver glimmer mist... to make it sparkle.  This title ties in really well with my journalling, which also ties in with the stars!  Yay!

And now for my third layout, that you could of recently seen on my blog.  It's based on a recent Stuck?! sketch and it's called "The Magic of You x 2"...

I love these Spring Paisley papers from Meg's Garden, plus this lovely photo of myself and my two best girls... this was a wonderful opportunity to channel my "inner-elegance/shabbiness".                                                  Basically to be less funky than the norm.  Lol.

If you look to the above close-up, you can see how I've layered two pieces of the Fencing Wire Panel on top of that rockin' Old Fence.  I had super fun with this fence, I manipulated it to make it curve downwards on my layout, then once I was happy with it's new "form", I adhered it into place with glue.  This is a great technique to try yourself! :)

There is Ariel's Spray on the top left corner - used as a frame/corner.  I've painted it in brown acrylic paint and I've added some lighter brown highlights here and there with my finger.  Isn't it so delicate and lovely?!  I also used up the last of the Fencing Wire Panel that I mentioned previously.  This Fencing has been ace to work with, the pieces used on this layout are actually left-overs from my layout, "Arkham Asylum", which featured on my previous post here at 2Crafty. :)

The final piece of 2 Crafty is the lovely title "The Magic of You", which makes up most of my layout title.  I have done a stipple effect with heavy body acrylic paint on this title.  This is the first time I have used this particular technique on chipboard and I like it... a lot!

Basically, take an old worn artist paintbrush, or better yet, a flat stipple brush (used mostly for stencilling, I believe - well that's what I've used them for in the past) and using non-diluted heavy body acrylic paint, tap the brush all over the title until fully covered.  Once dried, repeat.  That's it!  I then outlined around the title to give it an extra bit of "pop!" and also to tie in with the black and white letter stickers that form part of the full title.

Okay that's all from me for now!  I hope you have enjoyed my 2Crafty post today!

Thanks for looking and if you leave a comment...thank you so much. I read every single one of them and I really do appreciate them so much.

Cheers
Chantal
