I know I'm not the only scrapper out there that has gone and bought those American Crafts Modern Albums and then have no idea what to do with them, I mean they house our layouts which is great, but they look so bare.
Well I got thinking and have started to play and have come up with a little solution!!
The albums are basically a thick chipboard, so it can be treated as such.
And here is one of the albums I have finished off
I painted around the edge and the inside of the front cover, used some Mod Podge as a glue to adhere some patterned paper and then sealed it with another good coat. I then used Mod Podge as a glue again to adhere my chipboard and once again I used it on top as a sealer, I don't think that chipboard is going anywhere LOL
I have used both Ornate Oval Frame and Floral Spray
all the chipboard was treated with some inks, playing with different colours to reach different tones on the pieces.
I have another album I have decorated too, this one is a boy themed one
On this album I have used Stars
(love these as they come in different sizes and are great for tracing around to cut out some papers with too)
the above pieces were also treated with different coloured inks, but I also ran the Star Spray Corner through my Cuttlebug with an embossing folder, yep that's right 2 Crafty can also be embossed too!!
I'll be back in a couple of days with some more new releases to show you, if you want to get your hand on them then you may need to speak sweetly to your Local Scrapbook Shop owner, if not I'm sure we can gather a list of stockists for you.
