Double Inspiration by Nicole Doiron

Hello, it's me Nicole.
Back to give you some more 2Crafty inspiration!

The title of my post says it all... I'm sharing with you double-page layouts this month.

"Inseperable"

I admit, I am a girly girl at heart, so I love adding flowers
and butterflies and glitter to most of my layouts.
And I'm lucky to have some special little girls
in my life who also love all those things, like Celeste and Jade.

Being sisters, Celeste and Jade are always having fun together
so the Inseperable Title was the perfect title for this spread.

Using and cutting up the Corner Spring Flowers in different pieces,
I added them around my pictures.  They were covered with Liquitex Glass Beads,
then painted with Silks and then dabbed with white paint.

The Glass Beads were really fun to play with.  I love the added texture they give the chipboard.

Below you can see Ava's Butterflies which are so finely cut and just the right amount
of whimsical for this shabby chic layout.  I also cut up the Thistle Shrub and tucked the
pieces behind my flower clusters.

Now from girly girl to boyish boy with a star-theme!

"You Rock My World"

The pictures are of my friend Nathalie and her son Tristan who's full of spunk as you can see.

Because I found it so fitting for the pictures on which
Mom and son seem to be having so much fun posing for the camera,
I used the You Rock My World Title that also conveniently includes a star.

Below you can see the Star Studded border which I painted with gesso
as well as black and aqua Silk Glazes.

I then added touches of silver and white acrylic paint to give it a metallic look.

I used the same treatment on the Frame Star with Stars (I LOVE this piece!)
The 'Hey You' from the Word Bubbles Set was also painted with silk glazes.
And I couldn't resist adding a Moustache.

I added more stars with the Scallop Star Border.
And the Chevron Bits, which I painted black and then dabbed with silver,
are perfect to add a trendy touch to any layout.

Here's a close-up look at the stenciling that I created on the background.

And now, back to a shabby chic feminine layout...

  "Sweet Love"

My 3rd and final share this month was created for the Scrap Around the World.
2Crafty sponsored the  reveal that went live a few days ago on the SATW blog
and was thus inspired by the stunning Summer mood board
designed by our very own Di Garling.

I love the yellow tones of this mood board, the perfect Summer colour in my opinion.
I decided to add in a little pink and black accents.

I combined the Love-Fancy Title and this piece from the Word Circles Set 1
to make up the title 'Sweet Love'.

Here you see part of the Circular Leafy Frame which I simply dabbed with
black Silk Glaze and then dabbed with white as I usually do.

As you've probably figured out by now, I love to dab my entire layouts (or most of them anyway)
with a little white paint to soften them up.  You could say it's my artist's signature I guess.
I even dabbed this metal butterfly trinket.

I adore the Leafy Shrub Sets... this piece is from Set 1.

I added pieces of the Small Chicken Barbed Wire throughout my layout
and painted some of the Daisy Flowers yellow to add to my flower clusters.

Another beautiful photo of sweet Celeste and Jade, my friends' daughters.

Well, that's it for me this month.

I hope I got you inspired to try a double-page layout and use lots of 2Crafty chipboard on it!
