"A Charmed Life"
By Resident Guest Designer
Chantalle McDaniel

Hello 2Crafty friends and thank you for having me once again!

I am struggling to break the chocolate-for-breakfast habit now that the holidays are done...
Getting crafty is just the thing I need to take my mind off the bunnies in the cupboard ;)

"A Charmed Life"

The Sharon's Butterflies that I have used on this layout are perfect for expressing
the happy, carefree tone of the photo and title. They have been primed with gesso
and then misted with some Color Shine in Citron. I then hand painted the ombré effect
using Twinking H2O's - the luminosity of these tiny pots never ceases to amaze me!
Finally, I used plain water on a bristle brush to rub away some of the colour,
 to give subtle highlights.

I have also used some Flag Banners. These have been covered with patterned paper
using decopage glue. The lengths have been staggered, so I have cut off one of the punched
sides, but kept the holes on the other two and stitched them to my layout with embroidery cotton.

The Circle Revolution Frame has been kept neutral as I felt it best complimented the
tones of the photo. I love the way it draws the eye in to the sweet pic of my DD having
 fun on the swing.

The larger butterfly was also misted with Color Shine, then stamped with ink and
 clear heat embossed.

For those of you in Queensland, I will be teaching a class at QLD Scrapbooing Retreats in Kilcoy on the 17th of May. There are still a few spots, so be quick!

Here are some sneaks of how we will be using 2Crafty chippies on our layout...

Wishing those of you in Oz a lovely long weekend.
