My January Inspiration
Two Layouts & A Canvas to Share
By Di Garling

"Cheeky"

Hello & thanks for calling by the blog.
Today I have two layouts & a canvas to show you & naturally they feature
lots of gorgeous 2 Crafty chipboard.

My first layout, "Cheeky" I have used one of the many titles available
from 2 Crafty. This loopy font is definitely one of my favourites.

All of my chipboard on this layout was firstly primed with a coat of gesso.
On my title I followed up by simply brushing on a  couple of coats of
Glimmermist until I was happy with the colour.

In these two photos you can see I have used the "Leafy Shrub Set #2"
which again I simply applied two coats of gesso to. It doesn't get much simpler than that.

I love these "Leafy Shrub Sets". There are three pieces per pack.
They are so fine & delicate & look so good in any flower cluster.

Some Green Tara flowers of course.

Lastly I have finished off with the little "Gazebo" in the bottom corner of my page.
Again it was firstly gessoed then I applied a metallic paint.

 "Now & Then"

These pics were given to me by a friend & I really wanted to do them justice.

I have used a pack of 2 Crafty "Puzzle Pieces".
I used both the negative & positive of this jig saw sheet to cover my background with.

First up I gave them a coat of Gesso, followed by a coat of Texture Paste which I
stamped into while still wet to create some great texture.

Next up I coloured them with Gelatos & when dry I have stamped on them.

This was a lot of work but I think the result was so worth the effort.
It is nice to try something a bit different occasionally, don't you agree ?

Down in the corner you will see I have also used a "2012" which
comes in a multi pack. These are such a great idea, turning the date
into an embellishment.

I have used another of the many 2 Crafty titles "Now & Then".
This title as well as all the other chippies pieces on this layout were firstly
primed with a coat of gesso & then coloured with Gelatos.
Gelatos work great on chipboard.

Here you can see I have used some of the feathers from the "Soft Feather Set".
I brushed on some texture paste rather thick to create lines on them like real feathers.

At the side of my photos I have tucked in a "Birdcage #1" which also
includes that sweet little bird.

Lastly I have added a heart from the "Folkhearts Multi Pack".

"Magic Happens" Canvas

I have been guest designing over at the 13 Arts blog
over the past few months & I had created this canvas
for a recent post there, perhaps you may have seen it.
Naturally it has loads of  fabulous 13 Arts products on it but it also has
lots of gorgeous 2 Crafty chipboard on it as well.

Here I have used a "Frame Ceilias Flourish" back to back with "Ritas Swirly Border".
Both pieces were simply coated with gesso.

In this pic you can see the title "Magic Happens" which summed up this
photo perfectly. After firstly coating it with gesso I then brushed on some
13Arts mist. I sometimes find brushing mist onto chipboard as opposed
to spraying I can make it thicker & get a better colour result.

Well thats all from me today.
Until next month.
