Chantal's 2Crafty Creations for March!! :)

Hello everyone!  Today I have three fun-filled layouts laden with 2Crafty chippies to get you excited (hopefully!) about this wonderful product and the zillions of things you can do with them in your everyday artistic creating!

First up is my layout, "Australia Day"...

I have used those little paper flags (you know the ones you can get to stick into food?) on my layout completely intact and also cut and framed using Photo Slides.  I've coloured them black with a paint pen and after adhering them to my layout (using foam tape here and there) I have journalled around them with a white gel pen.

I've created a frame around my layout using Jenni's Bracket Frame.  I have taken some of the inner frames, leaving them nested, and painted them a bold red.  I then machine stitched them onto my layout in a large circular motion and then I outlined around the outer edges with a black marker.

This large frame, with it's lovely shape really breaks up the straight edges of the many squares and rectangles on the layout. :)

The title of my layout, Australia Day, has such a cool fun font - totally perfect for this layout!

I have coloured in the title with a black paint pen and outlined inside the letters twice with a white gel pen so it really stands out.  The great thing about colouring chipboard with a paint pen is that it is dry instantly and ready to be doodled/outlined/written on with a gel pen, like I did here.

Next is a texture-filled layout, "Weekend Getaway"...

This is one of those layouts that is hard to "capture" on film - as it looks much nicer in real life!  I based my layout on this month's challenge at "Once Upon A... Sketch".

I have used all sorts of goodies on this one, such as crochet doilies, ribbon, trim, lace, fabric, bling, gesso, paint, ink, chalk, transparencies, stamps, washi... and last but certainly not least - 2Crafty chipboard!  In total I've used four different 2Crafty products on this layout.  Let's have a closer look...

Above my photo, I've used a tab from the assorted tabs pack.  This has been lightly gessoed, part of my title has been stuck onto it, I've journalled on it (one word - Yay!) and it's been stapled beneath my photo.

I've adhered a Retro Stem to the bottom right of this photo and there's another Retro Stem at the top left of my layout too.  These have been very lightly brushed with gesso.  You can see the raw chipboard through the rough brushstrokes there.  I think it looks kinda cool! :)

In three places on my layout (top right - as pictured above), middle left and bottom left, I have adhered (stapled being the more operative word) some Chicken Wire.  This stuff is awesome.  I have just ripped (literally!) the gessoed panel into three pieces and I just love the effect this gives!

Lastly, I have used five Skeleton Leaves.  I've used gesso on these again - it looks so great for these beachy layouts - and they have been tucked underneath the top right and bottom left corners of my middle photo.

The third layout I'd like to share with you today is one that I created when we at 2Crafty were guest designing at CSI.  My layout is called "Underwater Conversations"...

I've used eight super cute Bubble Fish here on my layout.  One of the fish was cut into three pieces (sorry fishy!) and you can spot him at the very top, the very bottom and the top left.  :)

These fish have been covered in gesso, inked using sequin waste mesh as a mask, stamped with bubble wrap using acrylic paint, then I have attached felt fins, goggle eyes and drawn little mouths on each.

I have used the circular sections which come in the Suns pack.  I've mixed paint on each for a marbled effect, finishing off with some doodling in black pen.

I just love these Funky Frames!  I've gessoed and doodled around one with a black gel pen and paint pen.  I have also decorated it with some adhesive pearls.

Lastly I've used some Wavy Borders cut up, on the top of my layout.  I've used the same technique on these as I did with the "Suns", mentioned above. :)

That's all from me for today!  Thank you so very much for taking the time out to see my blog post!  I hope you have enjoyed my layouts this month!

Cheers,
Chantal :D
