My September Creations --by Keren Tamir

Its my time again to showcase my creations with 2 Crafty Chipboard.  I used lots of Mixed media techniques on the chipboard and I combined it with lots of beautiful flowers.

Here are my creations:
Enjoy!!

First I want to point out these beautiful Graceful Butterflies. I used acrylic paint and smooch spray to make them two-toned. Then when dry, I added clear Distress Stickles. I love the magical look I created for them.

In this picture I'm showcasing this beautiful Floral frame that surrounds my daughter. I loved this frame as soon as I saw it. I covered the frame with black gesso. Then I dabbed it with an orange acrylic dabber over a floral mask template. After the orange pattern dried, I dabbed it all over again with the same orange paint. The patterned design looks as if its lightly embossed. Finally using my finger I applied black gesso again around the edges.

I also used these amazing Bamboo Stems. I covered them in green acrylic paint and when dry, I dabbed them with Green Distress Stain in certain areas to give the bamboo leaves depth.

Here are the 3 types of 2 Crafty Chipboard I used on this layout.

Graceful Butterfy (unit of 3)

11" Floral Frame (unit of 3)

Bamboo Stems (unit of 3)

For my second layout I wanted to create a hanging garden type of illusion. I dripped Liquid acrylic paint down the page for effect.

I used the Albert Frame for this layout although you probably can't tell. I cut this 11" frame in half and adhered it to the top of the page. I still have the other half for another layout. I even have another great idea on how to use it.

This is how I created the blue textured effect on the frame.

1. Using a paint brush I thickly added Molding Paste on the chipboard. Be generous and make sure the paste doesn't go on evenly. You want it to look messy.

2. Spray the frame with your choice of colored ink. I used turquoise Dyllusions ink and Blue Glimmer mist.

3. Let it dry thoroughly. (This takes quite a number of hours)

I used one of the two Tattered Hearts that came in the package. First I painted it with white acrylic paint to make it opaque. Then I dabbed it with an Adirondack Yellow Acrylic Dabber to match my page.

I used Maggie's Swirl on this layout to add flourishes to the flowers. I had to cut both swirls into many pieces to have enough for the whole page. This is a great tip if you don't have enough pieces of chipboard for the whole layout. You may cut a larger piece into smaller pieces for a better effect. I used the same painting method as the heart for these swirls.

Finally I used these beautiful Birds in Flight chippies. I love these birds. There are 6 in a package and you don't have to use them all at once. I only used 2 for this layout. I painted them in turquoise acrylic paint and then I dabbed them lightly with the Yellow Dabber.

These are the chipboard pieces I used on this layout:

Albert Square Frame (unit of 3)

Tattered Hearts (unit of 3)

Maggie's Swirl (unit of 3)

Birds in Flight (unit of 3)

Finally I want to show you a third layout. This one was was posted on my blog 2 weeks ago and it uses this chipboard Fairy

Fairy (unit of 3)

I used a different technique on this fairy. First I painted it in black Gesso. Then using different Pan Pastels, I colored her in. The black Gesso helps to make the background opaque. Then the Pan Pastels are applied smoothly and evenly. The result is bright and prominent.

I hope you enjoyed this very long post.
