Happy Friday everyone! Hope you have had a fabulous, crafty week so far!

I have a simple LO to share with you today, seem to do a lot of simple stuff lately. I am really loving the clean and simple style, and this is what I came up with:

On the gorgeous, gorgeous butterflies I have simply put washi-tape, and cut around the shape. Adding a couple of pearls, and voila - done!

DT Introduction - Di Garling

Hi everyone, my name is Di Garling & I live on the sunny Central Coast of NSW. I have been married to my best friend Chris, for more years than I care to think about. I have two grown up sons, Beau & Kale & a little fat Staffy dog called Poppy, who we all totally spoil. I also own a Scrapbook Shop called Di's Scrapbooks which I started up in June 2006 at a beachside suburb on The Central Coast at a place called The Entrance. A great place to hang out at & work everyday. I do a lot of the design work for my shop as well as teach both Scrapbooking & Cardmaking. It keeps me pretty busy & I love it.
I am Design Team Co ordinator for Green Tara who wholesale Flowers, ribbons etc. I have also recently joined the Creative Team over at "Kraft It Up" which for those of you that are not familiar with it, is a challenge blog. Now I am very lucky to join Vanessa & her talented team of girls here at "2 Crafty".

I am so happy to share this, my first layout for the 2 Crafty Design Team with you. My style is very "busy" I don't do minimalistic, I have tried, but it just isn't me. I so enjoy the journey of creating a layout that I don't want to cut that enjoyment short. I love lots of layering & textures & lots of details. The more the better!! Chipboard has always been my favourite, must have product. I just love the way it adds dimension to a page.

Here I have used the "Captured Moments" word which I painted first in white acrylic paint & when dry I simply sponged a turquoise ink on the top half, making sure to blend it nicely so as not to get a definite line, but rather a soft graduation of colour.

On my layout I have also used this beautiful a "Cartia's Swirl" flourish. I so love this beautiful piece, so fine & delicate. Here I have again simply painted it with white acrylic paint & when dry I simply dabbed some turquoise Stickles on in a "hit & miss" fashion. Not too much. Sometimes the simplest way can still look effective. Thanks for stopping by, I hope I have given you a little inspiration & perhaps some ideas for using this fabulous 2 Crafty chipboard. DT Introduction - Fiona Johnstone

Hi! My name is Fiona Johnstone and I live in Sydney with my husband of almost 10 years and our two children Zane 6 and Lily who turned 5 yesterday.

I went along with some friends to a beginners scrapbook class back in 2005 whilst pregnant with Zane and loved it, but didn’t get right into it until after Lily was born in 2007. My style is constantly changing as I love to try new techniques, but I try to keep my photo’s as the main focus and always use them as the starting point for creating my layouts. I have been fortunate to be published in Scrapbook Creations & Scrapbooking Memories magazines.

I love to use chipboard on my layouts and was very excited to be asked to be a part of the 2crafty Design Team. I look forward to sharing my work with you and hope I can bring you some inspiration for using chipboard in a variety of ways.

For my first layout I have used one of my favourite flourishes Ariels Spray. I have inked it with distress stain to match the greens in the paper.

I have also tucked in a cute little birdcage which I have inked with white distress ink, then added some glimmermist in leather to make it look a little worn.

I am looking forward to sharing some more layouts with you soon and hoping to inspire your use of chipboard, alongside the rest of this fabulous design team.

Such a daredevil - Kerryn

Hi there!
It's my turn to try to inspire you to create this weekend.

Although I have now returned to work, over the past week or so I have been deep in my 2Crafty chipboard stash, my favourite place to be :)

During the holidays I took lots of photos of my gorgeous nieces who were visiting from interstate and I found them to be a constant inspiration for me to put together some layouts.

This page shows my youngest niece expressing her absolute delight sliding down a slippery dip, complimented by the perfect chipboard pieces Birds in Tree and a Funky Birds from a packet of 6.

Both pieces of chipboard have been inked with different shades of green, once they had dry, I have applied some Chrystallina Kindy Glitz to highlight different parts of the chipboard and then finished them off with Glossy Accent.
I love the end result.

Here is the finished page, bright and colourful just like this cute little munchkin!

My First Post for 2 Crafty

Hello!

This is my first Design Team blog post for 2 Crafty and let me start by telling you all how excited I am to be part of this great team!

I first started Scrapbooking when I had my first daughter who is now 8 years old (how time flies huh!), though I have always been "crafty" and pursued a number of different crafts in my time, from cardmaking to the padded lacey photo frames ... remember those? When I started scrapping though it all fell in to place for me - I had found something I could really take any direction I wanted to. Since then I have very much become passionate about mixed media art and whilst I still do scrapbook there is no more enjoyment for me then getting my hands messy with paint, gesso, inks and various mediums. I love to work with chipboard as a starting point for much of my work which is one of the reasons I jumped at the opportunity to work with 2 Crafty. It is my hope that during my time with this wonderful little company I will inspire you to get creative too, get your hands messy and perhaps learn a few techniques to transform your plain chipboard pieces into something really special.

So a few weeks ago Vanessa sent me a pack of all sorts of 2 Crafty goodness and I sort of didn't know where to start. I have now ended up with a number of projects on the go, but the first to be finished is this layout using a number of products released just a week or so ago.

That's my daughter Alyssa - now 8 years old and just started Year 3. This photo was taken when she was about 4 and I just can't understand what happened to the last 4 years. Hence the title for my page "Where Has the Time Gone" which was inspired by 2 Crafty's new Vintage Clock Hands (aren't they gorgeous?).

I don't like to just give the chipboard a solid coat of paint and leave it at that. There is SO much more that can be done with it. To give my clock hands some texture I have stippled Gesso (you'll soon realise how much I use this stuff) all over and heated with a heat gun straight away. The heat causes the gesso to bubble slightly, so it stays raised in some areas creating an uneven surface. Because the gesso is white and I wanted a slightly more aged appearance, I simply went straight over the top with my Antique Linen Distress Stain. These are such a great product for very quickly colouring chipboard - though the Antique Linen doesn't look so good if it is applied just straight to the raw chipboard.

The piece pictured above with the word "time" on it is also a new product - Sybil's Name Plates. You get two in a pack in two different sizes. I started by giving this piece a solid coat of cream paint, applying it a bit thicker on the flourish parts using a stippling brush. Drying this with a heat gun will create a subtle texture in the thicker areas of paint. I then put a little dark brown paint (such as Raw Umber) on my finger and lightly dab it around the very out edge of the flourish parts, giving it a sort of shadow look. Once dry I also went over the whole thing with my Antique Linen Distress Stain. The letters forming the word "time" are actually by Tim Holtz and come already black. I just lightly dabbed a little gesso over them with my finger to give them a little depth. You could do this just as easily with chipboard alphas, first painting them a dark colour and then lightly dabbing over the top with a second colour.

That's it for my first project! I hope you like it and are feeling inspired to grab yourself some yummy new 2 Crafty goodies and get those paints out!

Hi!

My name is Annelie Maddock, and I live in the land of the long white cloud - New Zealand!

I was born in Sweden, but have lived in Auckland since 2003. I’m married to Kelly and mum to two gorgeous girls; Tova and Elsa. I work full time as an executive PA, so I’m keeping myself busy!

I’m also a cancer survivor and try to live every day to the fullest!

My passion for scrapbooking started in 2006, and since then I have created something just about every day. I go crazy if I don’t! I love both shabby chic style and bright colours, white space & full on, I am addicted to alphabets, and I like adding little random bits to my pages. It’s important for me to scrap everyday stories, but I also scrap my favourite photos again and again just because they’re gorgeous!

I've loved using chipboard ever since I started this hobby, and I am thrilled to be on the 2Crafty Design Team!

When I recieved my box of amazing 2Crafty chipboard, I was instantly drawn to the "Lucy Flourish Frame" and knew that I had to use it for my first project.
Combined with a lovely "Vintage Clock Hand", I had a project in mind that really highlighted the gorgeous chipboard.

Hi, I am Nina Granzien and I live in Queensland. I am a wife, a mother (of three) and have been scrapbooking for 11 years. My passion for scrapbooking is always growing and I define myself as an "anything goes" type of scrapbooker. I am at my creative happiest when I simply allow myself to zone into the creative moment and see where it takes me. It is important to "enjoy the ride" when creating, and to not have a specific goal or destination in mind. The freedom to create according to my spontaneous whims is far more rewarding and liberating. I am really excited to be part of the 2Crafty DT (many thanks Vanessa), and hope that through my creations, you are inspired to create with freedom of expression and to "enjoy your own creative journey".

"The Hair Style"

I absolutely LOVE how my first project for 2Crafty has come together and as you can see, I chose to work with the new Anthea's Butterflies.

The first thing you need to know about me creatively is that I LOVE BUTTERFLIES!! I am always drawn to add butterflies to my layouts in some way, shape or form (a slight addiction!).

I love that the Anthea's Butterflies come in a pack of various sizes and also that there are solid butterflies and framed butterflies mixed within the pack. For this particular layout I've selected 2 solid butterfly pieces and 2 frame butterfly pieces, ensuring that they were matching in size. I glimmermisted the framed butterflies, and I covered the solid butterflies with some washi tape. To add dimension to one of the solid washi tape covered butterflies, I added the matching glimmermisted frame butterfly over the top.

Kites - Belinda

Have you ever scrapped when you know you shouldn't? When there are a million other things that need to be done? Well last night I was a naughty girl! I had vast amounts of school work that needed to be done, however I was on a roll and just kept scrapping. I saw these 2 Crafty kites and just feel in love. Well I scrapped while watching the tennis until early in the morning and I was happy!

I covered this kite with patterned paper.

I coloured this Kite in with stamping up pens, then I stamped the top and used a paper tole gloss.

I adore these kites!!!

Blind Scrap - Michelle

I created this layout at a retreat, in what is known as a "blind" scrap.

A blind scrap is where you are given a list of materials you will need, and a set of instructions.

It is then up to you to interpret the instructions as you understand them !

Sounds easy, but it's harder than you think !!!

I found the 2Crafty Follow Dreams Title to be the perfect addition to my blind scrap page !

I have kept the 2Crafty Follow Dreams Title raw to help it stand out from the busy and dark background paper. It also goes nicely with the kraft cardstock. I love how I can use one piece of 2Crafty Chipboard as my layout title - and Vanessa has just made some new ones too ! See this post HERE.

A quick and simple Christmas layout to showcase my favourite photos from our Russell bear Christmas photo shoot.
I love how the 2 Crafty chipboard Merry Christmas title just makes it all pop. I inked in in black and sprayed it with marsh mellow Glimmer mist.

My photo collage was created in Picasa. It makes multiple photo layouts very easy.

I have used Echo Park paper and stickers.

Well I am still enjoying my holidays, except for the fact I'm not scrapping as much as I had hoped, but I definitely had to scrap this gorgeous photo of my son that I took on New Years Eve. I can't believe how grown up and happy he looks, it really makes me smile.

Now chipboard wise, I've had the 2Crafty Frame Star with stars in my box for awhile, always wanting to save it for just the right page. Well during the week I decided this page was the going to be the one.

To start, I have covered the whole chipboard piece with red rocket Brilliance ink, it has a lovely shimmer to it. Once it had dried, I grabbed a few metallic pens from my stash and coloured some of the smaller stars in gold, red and blue. The papers I was using also had some stars on it, so I decided to cut a few out and used them to add a little dimension to a few stars on the frame.

As with a number of 2Crafty chipboard pieces, there can be many uses. So instead of using it to frame a photo, I decided to use this frame as my journal spot and I have added some paper to the main star to write on.

I have used this page to journal a few of my thoughts for our boy for the year ahead.

A Captured moment - Kerryn

I am currently on holidays looking after my boy and I am thoroughly enjoying my free scrapping time. I have even finished a couple of challenges around the traps.
The one product that is a regular feature on my pages is my 2Crafty chipboard, which is very handy cause it means I always have plenty to share with you.

I had a fab time yesterday putting this page together for a challenge blog, but I had even more fun decorating my bits of chippie to go on it.

The Bath tub was painted white first and then I swiped the edges with a blue ink pad, just to give it a hint of colour. Trying for the rustic look.
I have used a black gel pen to doodle around the edge of the tub and then added some character to the feet and bottom of the tub.
The 'bubbles' are diamond Stickles filling the top of the tub.

I have removed the 's' from my title Captured moments and then covered it with black ink. Kept it simple :)
At the sides of the tub is a mix of Scalloped hearts and Plain hearts that have been inked or covered with patterned paper.

Arlene's corner comes in a pack of 2, here I have only used one, inked it with Pink metallic and then used the Stickles to highlight a few parts of the corner.

Just thought I'd share with you some new bits and pieces that have now been loaded on to the website, for retailers to order.

No real theme going, just a small release of odd bits.

We started doing titles and phrases a few months back now, and they are becoming one of the biggest sellers, and I suppose for those that don't like too much journalling - well they really say it all!

I had this project laying around for almost a year! It originally started as Ali Edwards December daily album, I never kept up as my life in December is usually nuts let alone the year I gave birth to Flynn. So as I kept up with the photos as I still wanted to showcase them! So here is a double layout telling the stories from each of the 31 days of December 2009.

I asked Vanessa to cut this 2 Crafty December for me as I needed something big and cursive. I love the way she cuts beautiful words!!!
I went over is with Diamond Stickles and it shimmers perfectly.

Butterfly Photo Frame - Michelle

Ooooops....I am a day late !
It is so easy to lose all track of time, day and date whilst on school holidays.
So here's a quick project that you can do in not time, using some fabulous 2Crafty Butterflies - this is a beaut 3 pack with a small, medium and large butterfly, all with a solid base and a frame !

I simply covered the base pieces with pretty Echo Park papers, and then inked the frames black to match the photo frame.

Christmas Photo - Kerryn

Hi there crafters, I'm here to share more 2Crafty chipboard inspiration with you all today. I still have a little Christmas spirit left in me and loads of photos to scrap, so I thought I would get another Christmas page done before it all begins to fade.

I have used lots of chrystallina Kindy Glitz and some Chalkboard Glimmermist to decorate different pieces of 2Crafty chipboard. The flourish and Nordic Snowflakes were painted with white first and then coated with Kindy Glitz and left to dry.

The word 'Christmas' formed part of the Merry Christmas title, but minus the merry. I have used the same process of paint and Kindy Glitz as a base coat. Once this had dried, I have sprayed it with Tomato Cerise Chalkboard Glimmermist. Love the finish!

You might recognize the design of the final page, it's the current sketch created by Wendy Smith over at Anna's Craft Cupboard. Being on holidays means I finally get a chance to complete a few challenges while scrapping.

A Laugh is a Smile that Bursts - Michelle

Isn't this 2Crafty title just the most wonderful saying ! I love it !

And it goes beautifully with this photo of my ever smiley Caden !

I think I couloured and decorated this Laugh Title about 4 or 5 times until I was happy with it ! At one stage it was raw, then red and... finally I settled on black with a white outline. The point being though, this title stood up to the multiple colourings and inkings without the slightest hitch !

Morning Crafters

I have more newly released chipboard to share with you today and I love them!

2Crafty have created these gorgeous mini tags.

They come in a variety of designs in one pack and they have heaps of uses.

Use them to add dates, places or titles to your pages without them taking over the design. You can keep them as natural chipboard or ink them to colour co-ordinate with your page.

I have kept these tags natural, using them to add the date and place to the page. Then using a black gel pen, I have doodled a border around the edge of each tag for some definition.

The tags have been attached to the page using twine and foam tape.

The chipboard Barbed wire makes another appearance too, roughly inked to blend with the page. Attached to the page with staples, so simple.

The page is of my handsome boy having fun at a party. I had a great laugh watching the kids all trying to eat their donuts without their hands.

What a perfect title for today !

It's not long until we see in the brand new year - 2012, and you could so use this Captured Moments chippie title on a New Years Eve layout. In fact...you can use this title on just about ANY layout - it's that versatile!

As you can see, I've chosen an "everyday" kind of moment for my layout, (Caden eating a jelly snake) and I decided to keep the title raw.

Dream come true - Kerryn

I have more yummy new release 2Crafty chipboard to share with you today before the year finishes. There is a kite, barb wire 12x12 strip and another fabulous chipboard title.

I have inked the tail of the kite and used metallic rub on to hightlight certain parts. The main part of the kite has been with different co-ordinating papers and then I have used string to define the sections.

The barb wire and title 'You are a dream come true' has been treated with Walnut crystal and then randomly inked with metallic inks and rubon. The title has been covered with glossy accents to give it a shine.

Today, I share with you a layout from the very talented Darelle, not that the picture does it justice, but the photo has actually been printed on silk, giving a softness to the overall effect.

Darelle, has used the Iron Fence and the Edith Frame in her layout, which has a bit of a vintage feel to it. Just love all the little embellishments - adds to a stunning finish.

Xmas Layout - Di Garling

Hope everyone had an absolutely fabulous Christmas Day yesterday.

Again today, I share with you a stunning layout by Di Garling, who has kindly and appropriately shared this beautiful xmas layout.

Di has used the new 2Crafty Merry & Bright Title, as well as the Blitzen Pack of Reindeers to beautifully embellishe this stunning picture and layout.

The photo has been slipped between one of the 2Crafty Scallop Circle Frames and is adds that extra dimension to the layout and really draws your eye to the photo.

Handmade card - Belinda

When this wonderful handmade card arrived in the mail it made me smile, I rarely get a handmade one.
Vanessa was inspired by my fellow DT members and used their wonderful ideas as inspiration.
This prancing reindeers are just so elegant and would look wonderful on cards or a layout.

I am now off to Woolworths with a very long list and them I may dabble in some 24 hour shopping at KMART. It's 8:30 now and I hope to be home and unpacked by 12.

Starting Early - Kerryn

Today I have a mixture of older 2Crafty chipboard and some of the very latest new releases to share with you, the new 2Crafty chipboard is so new, they are yet to be added to the site. But I am sure Vanessa will be glad to receive your inquiries.

Starting with the old, I have put the negative circles left over from the 12 inch Circle Border chipboard to work, creating a simple embellishment to add to my page.

Using a little glue in the middle to start, put the end of the twine in the glue.

After a few seconds of drying time, add a little more glue and start winding the string around. Once you have covered the chipboard, cut your twine and pop a gem or jewel in the centre.

And Tada!

The next two pieces of chippie are new.

The scrolled book plate has been inked black first, then I have measured and cut a piece of kraft cardstock to cover the plate so I can use it as my journal tag. I have brushed the scroll parts of the chipboard with gold ink pad to finish it off.

The 2 layered butterfly is simply divine!! I have covered the base of the butterfly with patterned paper and inked the edges. The silhouette layer has been coated with gold stickles and then covered in Glossy Accents to give it a glass finish.

And here is the finished page featuring my gorgeous Great Niece, boy that makes me sound old LOL!

Guest Designer - Di Garling - A Special Day

As soon as I saw this gorgeous chipboard 2 Crafty “Flowery Swirl Frame” I knew I had to do a layout with it, it is just so beautiful. I decided to do a Wedding page & had just the perfect photo.

I have use “Impasto Medium” which I just dabbed on with my finger to create this great texture. It is just so easy to get this effect. When dry I painted it with a metallic aqua coloured paint & when that was dry I sponged on some gold in a random fashion. This was really so easy & yet it is such an effective little technique.

I have also misted & stencilled my background to match & added lots of flowers & crystal sprays. This is really a beautiful piece of chipboard & I am so happy with the result. Cheers Di.

We are looking for Crafters who love to create with Chipboard whether it is Cards, Layouts or Off the Page items.
This position will be for an initial period of 6 months with the possibility of it being extended after this date.

Good morning Crafters!

I must confess I should have posted this page yesterday, but with the horrible weather here in Adelaide and things happening around here, it did slip my mind.

Vanessa has created a few new pieces again this month for 2Crafty and as always, I love them all! When I spotted this particular chipboard title in my DT kit, I knew exactly which photo I would be scrapping.

This photo was taken of my son showing off his first Christmas haul.

We were absolutely blown away at what he received, I guess it helps having big families on each side.

The title "So many toys so little time!" was so perfect! I have coloured it with a Marvvy black pen and then used a black gel pen to draw diagonal stripes across each letter. I was pleasantly surprised how well it showed. The word "toys" has been covered with red stickles first and then left to dry. Once dry, I have used diamond stickles to apply candy stripes. I have finished the word off with a good coat of Glossy Accents to really highlight the word.

The St Nicks Tree has been coated with white Distress Crackle, coloured with different shades of Distress Inks to bring it to life. It has then been blinged and glossed to finish things off.

Here is the finished project and yes there is a child in there somewhere.

Instead of 'Wheres Wally', you can play 'Wheres Harry' LOL!

Icecream at Mindil Beach Markets - Michelle

This is another layout from our recent family holiday in Darwin.
One of the "must do" activities when visiting Darwin is the Mindil Beach Markets. We were surprised to see it's not really about the shopping - it's about food, friends, fun and best of all, amazing sunsets over the beach (yep...it's round the other way in Darwin !).

As this is such a "busy" pattern paper layout, I have treated the 2Crafty Seb's Tree in black ink, to make it pop from the background. To make it a little more interesting, I handcut the leaves in a contrasting pattern paper, and inked the edges.

I chose the Seb's tree for this layout, as we were sitting under a big tree, enjoying a little shade, when this photo was taken !

Zoo trip - Kerryn

Morning to all on this fabulous Sunday morning!

I have to confess that I have been busting to use these 2Crafty chipboard pieces for quite sometime. So when the school recently planned a trip to the Zoo, I was more than eager to go along and help out. We had a fabulous day!
I was put in charge of Harrison and 2 other well behaved boys for the day.
I must say, it was a little hot for my liking, but we managed to keep cool and still enjoy ourselves.

So now back to the chipboard.
I've used my remaining pieces from the Jungle 1 pack. Love these animals!!
They were the perfect embellishment to add to the photo collage I had put together from all of the photos taken on the day.
I had a ball colouring each piece with ink and gel pens, very therapeutic LOL!. And I love how the brown pen has bled a little under a coat of glossy accents.

How cute do these guys look?
I must admit I love the croc the most.

This photo means a lot to me

Sadly we lost my dad a few years ago

It wasnt until I was looking through my baby album that I realised how few photos I had of him and myself

It is where this hobby mean so much to me

I get to scrap these photos that are very special to myself and my family.

I love that I can share this with them too.

On this layout I have used the "Cherished Moments" title

I have sprayed it with an October Afternoon sprinkler and then lightly rubbed over it with pinecone Ink.

I then coated the piece in Dimensional Magic to give it that lovely shine.

I have also used a Vintage Bird.

I have painted the bird using a range of colours, blending them in together untill I was happy.

I then used some Opan Dust on some of the bird to give it a little bit of a shimmer.

I've been a bit AWOL lately...it's just that time of year at school.
Lots of assessing, marking and report writing !
Thankfully, most of it is over now, and I can look forward to more fun things, like the Year 6 Farewell and Graduation, the staff Christmas party and of course...HOLIDAYS !!!

For this layout I have used a very elegant Cartia's Swirl, treated with black ink.

I didn't know what to expect, putting such a dainty flourish on a boy page, but I think it works...don't you ?

Halloween spooktacular - Kerryn

I really can't help myself, I am still playing with the gorgeous Halloween chipboard 2 Crafty released this year.
Definitely a fun time of year for us and even more fun this year cause my big sister decided to join us. She did manage to scare the pants of my son and he is still talking about it. LOL!

I have used the witch from the Broomstick witch set.
She has been crackled in black, the broom was then coated with dimensional liquid paint which allowed the crackles to come through and the her spooky shoes have been blinged up with some stickles. To finish her off and allow her to stand out, I have doodled around the edges and her socks with a gold pen.

The 'Spider and web' are from last year's 2Crafty Halloween collection.

The web was painted silver first and then covered with liquid glitter and left to dry. Once completely dry, I applied a finishing coat of glossy accents.
The spider was painted black and the eyes are silver gel pen, also finished with some glossy accents.

If you can't tell, I had loads of fun creating this page :)

I think you will agree that the girls who have been on our team for the past 18 months have done a fabulous job of keeping the blog up to date with posts filled to the brim with inspiration.

Vanessa and I have been very grateful for their creative pieces and are only thrilled to have had them work with us.

It is with this that it has come time to shake things up a little; today we announce that we are on the search for a new Design Team. Don’t think that we are saying goodbye to the girls entirely though, oh no, you will still see their work pop up on the blog from time to time.

Scaring the villagers

Evening everyone!

This past weekend I have managed to do loads of scrapping and it makes this little duck, one happy girl. And guess what I had sitting on the top of my supply pile, ready to be used first? More of the latest released 2Crafty chipboard.

I decided to start with some of my Halloween photos taken this year. I grabbed the bats from the Broomstick Witch and some gorgeous ghosts and went to work. Sorry I can't find the link for the ghost but I'm sure Vanessa will answer any inquiries.

I painted the bats white first and then applied black Distress Crackle Paint. The white base can be seen through the cracks. Once they were dry, I added some Glossy accents for a nice shiny finish. To finish them off I went around the edges of the bats with a black marker to darken all the edges.

The ghosts were covered with Crystallina Kindy Glitz and allowed to dry, then I applied a thick coat of Rock Candy Crackle Paint. The thicker you apply the bigger the cracks. The ghost actually look like they are shedding skin, very cool.

As you can see from the photos, the boys had a ball visiting the retirees from my Mum's retirement village.

I love banners at the moment and this one is so much fun!!

I have dome a couple of things with this little guy

I have inked some of the flags and I have also covered some with some patterned paper.

I then covered where the string would go with some twine

Now that I look at him I wish I had have also used some dimensional magic and glitter.

The possibilities are endless!!

Sweet Face - Kerryn

We managed to sneak away in October for a few nights camping. It was a fabulous weekend and we decided to hit the local street market on the Sunday. The photos were taken while we were waiting for Dad to come out of the bakery. My boy is such a character!

I have created this page using Anthea's November sketch over at Scrapbook Savvy and added a small 2Crafty Damask in my embellishment cluster, I decided to keep it natural to co-ordinate with my page

Christmas Pageant - Kerryn

I have been a little busy over the past 2 weeks, but I have finally managed some scrapping time, yeah me! To add to my worries, my Nikon camera decided to crash and is currently at Nikon being checked.
Hopefully it can be fixed within my budget.
So please excuse my photography using my very old point and shoot Canon.

The above mentioned camera decided to die half way through the pageant, alas the reason there are no photos of Santa :(

I have created a collage from the many photos I did manage to take and used some very yummy chipboard pieces from 2Crafty.
The Fir Xmas Tree has been given a real work-over. Distress Ink, clear and gold crackle paint, Dimensional Pearls and some bling to finish things off.

The Prancing Reindeers have also been crackled and glossed. I used Dimensional pearls on the antlers to give them a rough finish and some glitter for their nose.

Love the look of the page, it is week 46 of my 52 week album.

We recently surprised our kids with a spur of the moment trip to Melbourne… we arrived at the airport and pulled suitcases out of the boot and said “come on then” … they had no ideas they were going away or where they were going… one of the things we did on our mini break was the zoo… the kids loved it and where taken with the peacock.

On this layout I have used Swirly Bird Branch which I have sprayed in Glimmer Mist in the colours that mirror that of the peacock.

I love the 2Crafty titles

sometimes they are the perfect title for the page I am working on

I love the fonts also, I find that these can help to emphasise what it is I want the layout to say

It isn't often that I get photos of my partner and I

especially ones where he isn't pulling some kind of a face LOL

I got this photo on a recent trip up to Sydney, we were sitting in Darling Harbor watching out boys playing in the water fountain, they were getting wet and we were having a good laugh LOL

I have used this gorgeous Wrought Iron Border that has been sitting in my stash for some time, I have sprayed it with one of the Sprinklers by October Afternoon and then lightly and gently went around the edges using Pinecone Ink.

I have also used the Our Story title. I loved this title and was saving it for a layout of just the two of us.

I have sprayed this also in one of the Sprinklers by October Afternoon and then gave it a coat of Dimensional Magic. I love the shine and dimension it adds to the chipboard.

Every year we have a Halloween party for the kids (and big kids lol)… This year grandma came as a wicked witch and looked amazing taking out the best dressed adult prize as voted by the kids…

I love scrapping Halloween as the photos are always so colourful… on this layout I have used Broomstick Witch and Wicked Witch sprayed with black gold glimmer mist. The Boo title is part of the Peek-A-Boo Title which worked perfectly for this layout.

Feels like it has been a while since I shared something on the blog,

lets just say that Uni has been keeping me super busy.

Fortunately I have been to a retreat or two lately

I have lots of goodies to share!!

Today I have a simplish layout using 2 gorgeous pieces of 2Crafty

First up I have used the gorgeous Butterfly Frame

Now you know that October Afternoon have their own release of mist sprays don't you?

Well the colours I have used on this chipboard was from their latest line 'Sidewalk'

I LOVE how they turned out on the 2Crafty chippy! Bonus is that you get 3 coordinating colours in the same pack

you can spray multiple chippies on the one project and have them all match the layout without worrying about sorting through your stash to find colours that match.

I have also given my butterflies a coat of Opal Dust, similar to Kindy Glitz in a way 'cept it also has larger pieces of glitter in there.

I have also used a Floral Spray.

Again it was sprayed with the October Afternoon mists, I also added some bling to the flower centres and a light patting of Pinecone around the edges of the chipboard piece.

Hi there, Kerryn here and I have decided to get into the Christmas spirit a little early here with the help of the newly released 2Crafty Christmas chipboard.

For this page I've used the gorgeous reindeers, Dasher, covered them in distress stickles, used black gems for their eyes and finished them with a nice shiny coat of Glossy Accents.

How cute are they?

The Merry & Bright title has also been 'stickled', red for the letters and diamond for the snowflakes. I 've used gems on the snow flake centres for some extra bling and them covered the words with glossy again.

Here is the finished project, featuring my 'very hip' seven year old.

For those of you heading to the Papercraft Festival, you will see it on display there.

Love it or hate it...it's Halloween !
The practice of "trick or treating" has really taken off in Australia over the past few years and I've taken some very cute photos of the local kids who come knocking at my door. Tonight I took Caden "trick or treating" for the first time. He loved it (well, all the treats he got anyway !) No photos unfortunately, but he did lend me his "stash bag" for the photo shoot. Here are some very quick and simple cards for Halloween, using some of the awesome new 2Crafty Halloween pieces - ghosts and Broomstick Witch (bats included LOL).

Can you believe in 2 months it will be boxing day?
I thought it was time to use this new gorgeous 2 CRAFTY Christmas chipboard to scrap some 2010 Christmas photos before all of a sudden I had Christmas 2011 photos.
I added some bling to Dashers nose to turn him into Rudolph. I really can't wait to scrap some MORE Christmas layouts and use the new 2Crafty Christmas range.

Evening scrappers!
I've had a wonderful time scrapping today :)
Finishing off a few projects for Vanessa to take with her to the next craft show.
I am LOVING the new chipboard that has been released this month, there are so many gorgeous pieces to use.

Today I have the Albert Square Frame featured on a 12x12 page. I have used black ink as a base and then I have added gold embossing powder to the edges of the frame.
I have also used a gold pen to doodle along the edges.

I can't believe my boy is now seven years old, the time has passed so quickly!
The chipboard frame is so versatile. It was the perfect piece to use to create a collage project. Loved the effect of smaller photos!

Sometimes I never have the perfect alphabet for my layout. That is why I love 2Crafty! Vanessa has the cutest alpha.

For this layout I painted it the shade of cream I required, inked the edges and painted it in a clear 3D gloss. It made me happy I could match it to my layout.

Hi Scrappers, I have another gorgeous new release 2Crafty chipboard piece to share with you all today and it is seriously the COOLEST tree I have ever seen.

This Funky Family Tree was created by the very clever 2Crafty owner, Vanessa!!! And I just adore it!

For my page, the branches have been covered with Distress crackle - Walnut Stain and the leaves painted with 'Peeled Paint' crackle paint. I have doodled the leaves for a little more detail and inked the frames with Brilliance Ink in red. The frames have been Glossy Accented for a final touch.

Also added the word Family from the 'Family'word pack It's been inked with pinecone and outlined with a blue glitter gel pen.

Morning all, I've been having a ball playing over the weekend with the newly released 2Crafty designs. There was plenty of paint, inks and crackle paint flying around the room, the family was told to take cover LOL!!

I have the first project to share with you today, with more to come very soon.

Where to start!! I think I'll work my way though the layers.
The Picket Fence was the first piece to be used, inked with pinecone and then using a rusty paint mask, I have lightly applied black ink for a contrast.
To add some finishing touches to the chipboard, I have coloured the nails with a gold gel pen and doodled a border around each picket.

Now you all know how much I love my chipboard, but there are times when I really can't help but chop it up a little :) The Cartia's Swirl and Corine's Swirl where the perfect pieces to use to create a grass type effect for the layout, they were both cut down into smaller pieces and inked with 2 different shades of green ink and placed either side of the photo.

The Cogs Border was also tortured, I mean, cut into smaller pieces, sprayed with glimmermist and then randomly placed over the page to balance the colours and add a bit of "Boy" to the mix.

And finally my favourite piece of all!
The Victorian Lamp Post was coated with walnut stain Distress crackle and then touched with gold distress crackle. Once dry I have swiped with a mixture of gold, black and brown inks to highlight different areas of the lamp. I have used stickles and glossy accents to create the 'light' in the lamp.

And now the page is complete!
Hopefully there is something here to inspire.

WOW

we are in October already

about the start the last school term of the year

Christmas decorations are out already

where did this year go??

Today I have a pretty little layout to share with you

I love getting all girly with my embellishments and 'prettying' up a page.

On this layout I have used this cute little title 'Little Angel'

I have covered the chipboard with white ink from an ink pad and then I painted over the top of it with some Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze

It has dulled the colour down and added a soft look to the title.

For the Corners -Arlenes Corner - I have lightly rubbed Pinecone Ink all over it so it hits the edges and then sprated it with Marshmallow Glimmer Mist. I love how the Marshmallow Glimmer mist gives the chipboard an opaque colour.

Well, it's supposed to be SPRING, but with the crazy weather around the country lately, who would know ?
Play in the Leaves is a tribute to the last days of Autumn, using some fabbo 2Crafty Sweet Pea Stalks, and the gorgeous Seasons range from Crate Paper.

The Sweet Pea Stalks have been simply treated with Versa Colour Ink in Turquoise, and then a fine misting with Tattered Angels Dragonfly Glimmermist. What I wanted to highlight today, was how well you can incorporate 2Crafty Chipboard into layers of diecuts. The Sweet Pea Stalks go very nicely with the variety of diecut flowers from the Crate Paper.

Today I have used a very simple effect on my 2Crafty chipboard, but I think it looks very cool!

I've grabbed another one of 2Crafty's fabulous chipboard titles, Follow your dreams, inked it with black ink and then lightly swiped the chipboard with metallic gold. It gives the chipboard a nice shimmer.

You will also notice I have split the title into two pieces to suit the page.

I have loved looking at all the samples the DT have uploaded using the fantastic 2Crafty title 'A laugh is a smile that bursts'. I painted mine with black ink and then used paper tole 3D gloss over the top to give it a shiny/wet look.

This month I thought I would share an all white layout with you … monochromatic layouts are fabulous for displaying your chipboard pieces to their full potential as there is nothing competing with them on the layout… with my pieces I have sprayed them with Heuy’s Calico white mist … I have use the Rachelle's Swirly Border under the photo as the background of the torn window… then placed the Ivy's Squares under the flower clusters… and simply placed the A Laugh Title to the side… love how it has turned out…

Morning Crafters, I am a little late sharing some inspiration with you this week, the price you pay when you get away for a few days.

I have used a few different pieces of 2Crafty chipboard on this page and they are hot of the press! I'm sure they will be loaded to the site soon, so make sure to get your requests in.

The title piece 'A Laugh is a smile that burst' has been covered with black ink, embossed in 'Dot' folder' and then I have coloured the dots using a gel pen. Fininshed off with a generous coat of glossy accents.

The doodle line pieces that I have used to frame the photo, come in a pack of 2, they have been inked with black and then randomly coloured with metallic rubs.

And under the title and at the top and bottom of the page I have used the pack of 2 fancy circle frames, inked with gold and rubbed with green metallic rub.

Two of my gorgeous nieces having a funny moment, love their faces.

While you are reading this post, I am away retreating in NSW, thank goodness I could set this up before I left :)

Today I decided to scrap this beautiful photo I took of my sister while she was visiting from Brisbane.
I have used a few different pieces of 2Crafty chipboard, inked them in variers colours to co-ordinate with the papers and each word has been doodled in black pen and then coated with Glossy Accents.

I pulled out a few different words from my 2Crafty stash that I thought would suit the photo. The words 'Sister' and 'Daughter' were taken from the Family word pack and the word 'Mother' removed from the Mother & Daughter title. The word 'Girl' was created using my favourite 2Crafty chipboard alpha.

Also features a famous quote from Dr Suess, thanks Peta :)

On the weekend I drove up to Sydney to teach another class to the girls

This month we played with clusters.

On this Layout I have used a 2Crafty frame and some chipboard Alphas

I love this range by Echo park, it suits these 2 products well!!

Allwe have done with the chipboard was cover them with white ink, then lightly went around the edges with pinecone, this added a nice shabby look. We then sprayed them with Pearl Glimmer mist for a little sparkle and then added some dimensional magic to the letters to set them apart from the frame.

Morning scrappers!
I've been playing with pink again, just releasing some inner girlie.
It always helps having plenty of photos of my gorgeous nieces on hand.

I've had the Floral Frame sitting on my desk for a few weeks, eager to use it, but not quite sure how I wanted to use it.

Well yesterday I had a 2Crafty light bulb moment.

I cut the Floral Frame in half, I know more chipboard abuse, sorry :)
I gave the chipboard a base coat of cream paint and then left it to dry while I started the page. Once dry I swiped it over with metallic gold and pink inks to highlight certain areas. To finish off the effect I then covered it with Rock Candy Distress Crackle paint. Matches in well with the papers.

Here is my finished page, featuring my sweet little Great Niece, Alexis.
Hope her Mummy and Daddy like it.

Life's Journey - Michelle

The journey of life definitely has it's ups and downs !
And so does athletics.
That's why I have chosen the 2Crafty Life's Journey Title for this page of Jacob.
Jacob's life has certainly been enriched by his journey with athletics - the people he has met, the places he has been, and the achievements he has made...

I've kept the Life's Journey title raw for this page, as I have lots of things happening behind it. I also think it stands out a little more against the darker background paper. I remember taking these photos of Jacob and a team mate Josh, they were fooling around on the practice track dais...but having lots of fun and boosting one another's confidence for the events ahead !

Jacob will compete in the National Athletics Carnival from 15-19 September in Darwin !

I am bound to have lots more photos and memories to add to his Life's Journey, and share with you all.

Afternoon to all! Hope the Dad's are all having a fabulous day.
Guess I should have done a masculine page for today, oh well maybe next time LOL!

Today I have another page showcasing one of my gorgeous red-headed nieces, yes I have two. How lucky am I!

I have used a few different 2Crafty chipboard pieces to create a cluster on my page. I've grabbed two Leafy Swirls and the smallest Scalloped circle frame and covered them with green ink. Then I have used the medium Spiral Flower from the set and sprayed it with glimmermist.

I love the titles that 2Crafty have

sometimes it just says it all

This layout I have used the 'Imagine' title on it

For this title what I have done is cover it with White Ink from a stamp pad, then lightly touched it with Pinecone Ink from a stamping pad and covered it with Dimensional Magic for some shine and dinension.

Long time, no see !
Here's a layout using my new favourite Crafters Workshop Template and some fabulous 2Crafty chipboard - small postage stamp frames.
For this layout I have used the frames for dimension, as well as, embellishment.

The frames have simply been inked with Versa Colour Black Ink, and tucked under the photograph.

The frames are a great size, and come in a set of two.

I saw this postage stamp frame and just knew it would be perfect to highlight this photo. A moment captured on the beach between my 2 boys. Max was in awe as Flynn took his first steps on wet sand and how much delight he expressed in the whole moment.

Afternoon Crafters

Hope you are all enjoying a relaxing Sunday afternoon :)

I decided to post a little early and share what I have been working on over the weekend. I've been playing with stamps and metallic inks on my 2Crafty chipboard again, but this time it is on a slightly larger scale.

I have put to good use the negative part of the largest frame in the Postage stamp 12x12 pack. It's been inked with Graphite Black initially and left to dry. Then I have grabbed a small foliage stamp, Pearlescent Ivy and Crimson Copper inks and stamped 2 separate layers of colour. I love the sparkling finish on the chipboard.

Here is the end result, my boy messing around at the playground on Thursday.
I just love this photo of him!

I hope this gives you some inspiration to add a different finish to your 2Crafty chipboard! Dust off your stamps and have a go :)

Our guest designer is back this month with another layout just as pretty as the last.

This month I decided to use these gorgeous photos our eldest granddaughter that had been taken of her last year.

I have used 2 different 2Crafty Chipboard products for this layout the

Iron Fence

and

Leafy Swirls.

The first thing I did to them was ink them using Walnut ink and Peeled Paint Tim Holtz Distressed Inks with sponge blocks then stamped them with a flourish design and black ink next I spritzed them with Glimmer mist to give a touch of bling.

With the leafy swirls I also gave them a little more bling with embossing powered which have given them that glittery affect

Just to show you how well 2Crafty blends in with your die cutting machines Ruth has cut out a flourish design from cardstock that blends in so well with this layout and the chipboard.

Summertime Boy

There was lots of scrapping achieved in my house last weekend (first time for a long time) and as always 2Crafty was a part of it.

This time I pulled out my stash of 2Crafty chipboard letters and used them to create part of my title. I embossed each letter with a dots folder and my bigshot and then inked them in black. Once the ink was dry, I filled the dots on each letter with stickles to add a bit of sparkle to my page.

I have used this week's sketch from The Scrappiest to create my page.

I really love this quote, it made me think about Max and how much he is exploring who he is. A 5 year old that is learning about love and life. This page also explains that Max told Darren "she's my wife Dad, not yours". He is such a little ladies man.

My apologies for running a little behind this week, with visitors and work, I have barely had the chance to do anything, especially scrap.
But I am hopefully that will be fixed tonight when I have a night of scrapping planned with friends so I am hoping to catch up.

I have done a bit of creating yesterday and last night, putting another 2Crafty chipboard title to good use. I found the perfect photo of my son, age 2, staring off into space, oblivious to the world.
So I thought the title imagine would come in very handy.

It's been inked with black versa color and then I have doodled around the edge with a metallic blue pen. Before anything has a chance to dry, I have applied a coating of Glossy Accents. Love how the blue has blended with the ink and GA.

On the weekend I popped on up to the All About Scrapbooks monthly crop to teach a class for 2Crafty

I love going up there, chatting with the girls and doing what I love to do

The frame was sprayed with Glimmer mist and then dimensional magic was applied

The title was covered with ink from an ink pad, then sprayed with pearl glimmer mist and a light coat of dimensional magic was applied.

I set myself the task a few weeks ago to include some chipboard on nearly every page I scrapped and I did very well with it. All 2Crafty chippie of course :)
So I have another page to share with you using the gorgeous collection JBS Vintage.

This is an older photo of my gorgeous boy and his cousins watching his very first christmas pageant. I wanted to keep it simple and focus on the photo.
The Elegant corner set was the perfect frame for the photos. I have inked them with gold and added a black gem to the centre part.

Once I had started scrapping this page I knew the 2Cute title was exactly what I wanted to use. I have inked it black and then doodled a border with a gold gel pen.

I love the finished page and can not believe it was nearly 6 years ago.
