Merry Christmas From Fiona

Merry Christmas my beautiful 2Crafty Chipboard peeps. Fiona here with you today to
share my two Christmassy creations with you using the fabulous chippies from 2Crafty!

"Christmas Wreath"

So I found this wreath at K-Mart the other day for $10 and although it's very nice, I was
immediately inspired to give it an up-grade using some chippy and lots of shiny
black and silver embossing powder!

2 Crafty Chipboard used:
"Glenda's Swirl"
"Holly Twig Branches"
"Winter Twig Branches"
"Deer Set"

After removing the star and the ribbon, I gave the wreath a light going over with gesso
and then wrapped some wire around it for more texture. Lastly I stamped it a little,
which was hard considering it's not flat anywhere AT ALL!
but it still gave me a pretty cool effect.

I then started on prepping the chippy pieces. I painted the "Winter Branches" black and then brushed them ever so lightly with some white gesso to give them a wintry snow appearance.

With the "Holly Twig Branches" I covered them in clear embossing ink and then layered
up some Metallic Melts embossing powder in Carbon and silver. I just love the
glossy yet gnarly effect this gave them.

The little and big deer from the "Deer Set" were simply painted black, given a coating
of clear embossing powder and then a small sprinkling of glitter on their bottoms. I
wanted them to stay really black against the busy silver background but still be shiny
so the layers of embossing powder did the trick.

The final Chippy piece is the beautiful "Glenda's Swirl" which I glued up using a glue
stick and then dipped in tiny silver glitter. The fine silver glitter is great to use to cover
chipboard as it gives a really good coverage. My face got a good coverage too! People
were pointing out glitter on my cheek and nose to me for at least a couple of days after!

"Enjoy"

My next piece is this little Christmas card that I made for my long time friends Sandi.

2 Crafty Chipboard pieces used:
"Deer Set" (negative)
"Engraved Baubles"
"Wicker Christmas Wreath"
"Mini Word Set 1"

I used the negative from the "Deer Set" that I used in my previous project. I simply painted it back and laid it over a patterned piece of  Christmas themed paper straight on to my card base. I love to use my chippy negatives. It's amazing what you can do with them!

The layering came really easily. I started with a coat of gesso on the "Wicker Christmas Wreath" and then a light spray of colour. I love how the engravings show up nice and clear once the colour is added!

I applied the same method to the "Engraved Baubles". I used the ones with the little
prancing deer on it so it would match the negative from the "Deer Set" in the
background. Finally I added the little word Enjoy from the "Mini Word Set 1"
because that is what Christmas is about. Enjoying the time off with friends and
family and enjoying the exhilarating feeling you get from giving.
It truly is a magical thing xx

So it's Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from me once again.
I hope your time is happy and safe. I'll see you all in 2016!
