May Inspiration by Nicole Doiron

Hello!  Nicole here to inspire you today!
I have three very girly shabby chic layouts to share with you, each one of them
featuring fabulous pictures of two pretty little girls that I feel blessed
to have in my life.  They are Celeste and Jade, the daughters of some dear friends
of mine,  and for each layout I picked beautiful 2Crafty Chipboard
which seemed to be made for these 2 cuties!

Two Hearts

I am really happy with this layout, the mix of cold and warm colours
the country yet elegant romantic feel and of course all the chipboard pieces used,
starting with the "Two Hearts title" which I simply covered with stain and
glimmer mist, and then lightly dabbed the bottom part with white paint.

I used 3 of the 4 "Chained Circle Frames" which I tucked behind the photo
and the upper and lower paper layers.  I treated them with white gesso,
and then dabbed different shades of brown and blue stains followed by white paint.
I did the same to the "Interlocking Grid Panel".

The country look is accentuated by the wood grain paper background
as well as the kraft paper flowers and twine.

To go with the feathery white blanket the girls are posing on,
I decided to add 2 pieces of the "Soft Feather Set" to which I added light blue stain,
white paint and sparkle texture paste & the usual coat of gesso.

Another very country-looking piece is the "Doodled Heart" over which
I added another heart which is the center piece of the smaller "Lace Heart Frames".
I then cut out a piece of the "Love Border" to use as a subtitle.

Another look at the stars of my layouts today.
What photogenic girls, right?

You Make Me Happy (When Skies Are Grey)

I'm very excited to share with you this layout as it is my entry for the Epic Event
challenge over at Scrap Around the World, inspired by this fun celebratory mood board.
Even though I'm part of the SATW DT, I'm able to play along this month as part of
their VIP because I made it onto their Wall of Fame back in September 2014.
You can find out all the details on this challenge HERE,
and you'll be happy to know that 2Crafty is one of the major sponsors!

Now let's take a look at all the 2Crafty goodness used on this layout.
I was inspired by the overall happy feel of the mood board,
so I knew right away that I wanted to use the "You Make Me Happy title".
I started with a coat of white gesso and then just dabbed parts of it with
3 shades of pink and purple stains, and then silks acrylic glaze.
As you can obviously see, I accentuated the word 'happy' by coloring it blue.

To go along with the title theme, I decided to add my own little sunshine
coming from the "Mini Weather Icons" pack.

Also from the "Mini Weather Icons" are the cute little clouds
to which I added some sparkle texture paste and Stickles for some added sparkle.

Inspired by the photo of the girls playing with pink balloons,
I used some "Bubble Clumps" painted pink...

Three of the "Mini Hot Air Balloons".
I treated them with white gesso, blue, purple and pink stains,
Bo Bunny glitter paste, Stickles and dabs of white paint.

This photo and layout just puts a huge smile on my face!

Just the Girls

My last share today was inspired by another inspiration board,
this time the May mood palette from Off the Rails Scrapbooking
for whom some of us 2Crafty gals are guest designing this month!
This challenge has gone live on May 1st - you can click HERE for the details -
and the guest team post will go live on the OTR blog later on this month.
So be sure to check it out!

Believe it or not, this beautiful wood grain paper is from the 'Altitude' Winter collection
from Bo Bunny.  I just covered the snowflakes with stenciling and paint.
The "Just the Girls" title consists of stains, glimmer mist, glitter paste and dabs of white paint.
One of my all-time favorite 2Crafty piece, the leafy flourish from the "Leafy Shrub Set 1"
was coated with white paint and sparkle texture paste.

I also love the "Formal Flourish 3" which I lined vertically against the white left border.
I really like the texture that the blue Glitter Paste added to the chipboard
after I added purple stain and white paint to it.

WARNING!
Cutie above... Cutie below!  :)

I cut out pieces of the "Turkish Lattice Panel" which I tucked in different spots of my layout.

And here is one last close-up!

Here's to hoping that you enjoyed my May shares as much as I enjoyed creating them.
