February Inspiration
Three Layouts to Share
By Di Garling

"Those Eyes That Smile"

Hi there, Di Garling here with you today with three  layouts to share.
This first layout is of a friends daughter, which you may have seen before
as they did a photo shoot & I am so lucky to have been given lots of the pics.

To start with I used lots of Washi Tapes along both the
top & bottom edges of my layout.

Naturally I have used some great pieces of 2 Crafty chipboard too.

All of my chipboard was firstly given a coat of Gesso, this is like a primer or
undercoat if you like & it just makes whatever you do to your chippies
look & work so much better.
Next I gave them all a simple coat of white acrylic paint
& the word title a simple coat of red. So so easy.

At the side of my flower cluster I have tucked in a little girl
chippie from the "Happy Children" Multi Pack.
Isn't she sweet?

Title-"Those Eyes That Smile" is one of their  newest releases.
Also I have tucked one of their tiny "Film Strips" in on
the side of the page too.

Here you can also see  some tiny stars painted in both red & aqua
from the NEW  "ATC Tiny Hearts & Stars" pack to
just scatter around the page.

In amongst my layers I have also tucked in some
of the "Giant Gears" which also come in a multi pack.
These are one of my "go to" chippie pieces"as they just seem
to work on all sorts of different layouts for both boys & girl pages.

"Gorgeous"

For my second layout I have gone with a slightly shabby chic look,
green & purple is one of my most fave colour combos & I have
used lots of NEW release chippies from the latest 2 Crafty range.

I have used another NEW Title- "Gorgeous".

In this pic you can see I have used one of the NEW
"Circle Revolution Frames"
around my photo to draw the eye in. These come with
three different sizes on a sheet. Great value.

After a coat of gesso, both these chippies were painted a couple of coats
with a purple mist. Next up I embossed them with purple embossing powder,
followed by a wipe over with some gold Viva Inca Paste

By adding touches of gold it just adds a rich & opulent feel to the layout.

These are another  NEW RELEASE piece called "Rose Sets". I
have treated the stems with a green Vintage ink before adding some
Crackle Accents to them & for the roses I treated them the same as
the title but I finished off by adding some purple micro beads.

Here I have used yet another NEW piece. This new piece is from
a set called "Ornate Hearts" . I do love how they how it has a  leafy flourish.
I have treated them exactly the same as I did the stems on the roses.

"This Face Makes My Heart Smile"

For my third & final layout this month I want to show you this one,
although some of you may have already seen it online.
I created this for a design team reveal for the February challenge
over at "Scrap Around the World" challenge blog.
Here is the moodboard that inspired me.

I have used yet another of the NEW release titles,
"This Face Makes My Heart Smile".
Pretty much says it all.
This had a lick of gesso followed by a wipe over with aqua distress ink.

The little hearts are from the "ATC Stars & Hearts Pack" &
the good thing about them is that they are only tiny & are
just perfect for scattering arond the page.
Again simply treated with gesso followed by a lick of acrylic paint.

Now I have used two of these super sweet little birds from another NEW
release set. These are from the "Valentine Branch Set", although I didn't
use the actual branch, just the two birds. I'll save the branch for another project.
These were just given a coat of gesso & a light inking.

I am lovin those tiny hearts & those new birds.

Well thats all from me for another month.
I hope I have inspired you to get a hold of some
awesome 2 Crafty chipboard pieces for your
next project too.

Until next month.
