January Post by Elena

Hello Crafters, Elena here with you today.

It's freezing outside where I live, so no long walks,
just spending all my evenings with the kids or crafting at night.
So here is what I have been creating during this month:

"Simply the Best"

It  made this as a gift for a young lady who works for local radio station.
I used the "Simply the Best Title".
(I just adore the same song by Tina Turner, even though it is an old one)
I primed it with Heavy Gesso and then just spritzed with Shimmerz light mist.

I added one of the small "Gears" from the "Gears Multi pack".
I have covered it with gesso using a sponge, and embellished with the rhinestone.

For this layout, I collected most of the bits pieces  from my desk and
came across the "Indian Feather", which has been misted with the Spritz too.

My second Layout is about my very special friend and a great crafter with
a big heart and supportive soul.

  "You Are Perfect"

I used one of my favourite "Lucy Flourish Frames".
I have just realized that it was supposed to be used horizontally,
however it is not the first time that I have turned it upside down.
.
I primed it partly with gesso, misted and then applied
Dimensional paint alongside with the shimmery paint.

I wanted to create the feeling of time and the clock so I embellished
the frame with "Twiggy Nests" (a new favourite piece!!)

Just randomly painted with acrylic shimmerz and then touched with gesso also.

I added one of the "Vintage Clock Hands" from the pack, as well as a "Pen Nib",
both have been inked and then had some paint applied with a dry brush.

For more embellishments I used one of the "Flower Medallion" pieces
and an "ATC Birdcage# 1", and used the same techniques as the frame.

Lastly I would like to share some cards that I have made for Valentine's Day.

"First Card"

I used one from the "Soft Feathers", and it has been partly primed with gesso.
I have then stamped on it and then applied dimensional paint over the top.

"Second Card"

I painted the "Elegant Heart" with Dazzlerz and given it a  light sprinkle
with microbeads while the paint was still damp.

My third Card was made for Shimmerz blog and I used
one of the "Valentine's Hearts".

I used almost the same techniques, but you can check out the video
from start to finish and find more details and tips.

Thanks for watching  today.
Elena.
