Featuring Feathers and a Farewell by Keren Tamir

"Little Treasure"
Today is my turn on the 2 Crafty Blog but its also my last turn as I am saying farewell.
I was so honored to be part of the 2 Crafty team for the past two years.
I loved working with the chipboard and alongside some amazing designers.
I want to thank Vanessa for taking me into her design team when I had just
started my scrapbooking journey. I want to thank you for believing in me and my work.
2 Crafty was one of my first DTs and
I truly enjoyed my time designing with you.
I'm so very grateful to Vanessa and Di you do a fabulous job.

I created the above layout for my 7 Dots DT. I am showcasing it first because I wanted
to show you how I used the feathers here and then what I did below with the
negative image of the same feathers.

The Soft feathers and the feather from the World globe and ink set were edged in
blue chalk ink, stamped with script writing and then sporadically embossed
 with blue embossing powder.

The Circular panel was cut and used as a backing for my picture. The leftover circles
were spread along the page to add movement and flow. I also used the
Treasure title from the Friendship pack. Both the circles and the title were
simply inked with blue chalk edger.

"Happy You"

I really wanted this layout to follow the first layout because I wanted to show you
how I used the negative image from the Soft Feather Set on my second layout above.
I try to save most of my chipboard backings even if I've already used the inside.
I like using them as a one time stencil for my work. For the most part, you can only
use the chipboard as a stencil one time, as if it gets too wet it becomes soft and it flakes.

Here is a little tutorial on how I used this feather chipboard stencil.

I used some Light Molding paste and covered the feather in the stencil a few
times around the page. The image is thick, almost as thick as the chipboard and
it looks 3D. That's why it takes longer to dry.

You can see the feathers in the image below. I highlighted them in black
pencil so they would stand out.

I also sprayed each feather in a different Shimmerz Spray and let it drip down the page
. The feather images surround the photo to mimic the mask on my daughter's face.

I also used these peacock feathers to add so more flare the the feathered theme.
The were sprayed in the same colours as the inks below them and then
stamped with archival ink.

Finally I added the Happy You title from the Birthday Sentiments pack.

"You Leave Footprints on my Heart"

This layout is very special to me because its truly the last one as a 2 Crafty DT.
The photo was taken on a beautiful Autumn day which is one of my favourite seasons.

The picture above showcases all the chipboard pieces I used on this layout.
I used the Indian Feathers, the tiny leaf stems, the shrubs from set #2
(which I cut into little pieces) and the title "You leave footprints on my heart"
