JANICE NICHOLLS
Very Excited to be a
2Crafty Design Team Member

Hello Everyone  :)
Janice Nicholls here with my first post on the 2Crafty blog.
I am honoured, happy and very excited to be part of this
amazing team and to have the opportunity to play and create
 with this gorgeous chipboard.
A Big Thank You to Vanessa and Di for inviting me.
Today I am thrilled to share my first three layouts,
all featuring the gorgeous 2Crafty Chipboard.

"Look Around"

This is my first layout featuring lots of fabulous 2Crafty Chipboard pieces.
I have primed all the chipboard pieces with white gesso.

Using a dry paint brush I dipped it into gesso and  randomly wiped it
across the fence, leaving some of the chipboard raw.

 Grass Clumps
I also primed this piece with gesso, and when it was dry I added gesso
to my brush tip and daubed it over the grass clump to add some texture.

I primed these with gesso. When dry, I outlined them with
a Black Zig pen and added stitch marks.

I painted this with gesso and wrapped it with stranded embroidery thread.
I love hearts, they are a bit of a trademark on most of my layouts.
The chipboard buttons are great to add to clusters or to be placed
 randomly around your layout.

"Happy Birthday"

My second layout is a classic White, Red and Black colour combo.
This layout featured lots of the gorgeous 2Crafty Chipboard pieces.

The two Butterflies have been inked with Versa fine Onyx Black Ink.
To get the strong black colour I pressed the butterflies onto the pad.
Chipboard is so versatile, here I have cut the end off the Parisian Border
and added it to this little side cluster.

I love this loopy font, it formed part of my title.
Inked the same as the Butterflies.

This close up shows the Parisian Border & Celia's Flourish Frame
and a Funky Heart. The Border and Frame were primed with a layer
of white gesso using a paint roller. When dry, I lightly daubed the
Versa fine Onyx black ink pad over them.
The Funky Heart is covered with Tim Holtz Tissue tape.

This shows the two different ways I have inked the chippie pieces.
The Butterfly I have pushed onto the pad to get a darker colour
and the Border and Frame I have lightly daubed the pad  over each
piece for a hint of colour.

"Summer Days"

My third and final layout for this month.
I have already shared this one over at CSI as part of my
 October Special Investigator month.
I have added a mini tag in the cluster and written the date on it.
This is the Case File that needs to be solved.
I loved this case and the colours immediately said beach to me.
I had lots of fun creating this one and the
2Crafty chipboard pieces were just perfect.

All the pieces are primed or randomly coated with white gesso or paint.
2Crafty make adding a title to your page easy...look at this gorgeous piece.
Just perfect for all those summer pages coming up.
Here I added some layers, then stuck the title down, dipped my finger
into white paint and randomly smeared it across the title.

I stuck these to my layout, dipped my finger into white paint and again simply
smeared it across the pieces,  adding  a distressed look to my page.

Adore these little ATC seagulls, just perfect for my page.
I'm sure I will be using them again.
I have primed them with gesso and scattered them across my page.
