Back to School - Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone
February already, holidays are over and the kids are back to school for another year. It is with these things in mind I have created two of my layouts that I am sharing with you today. First up I have First Day of School, of my daughter who started school last year.

I have used the First Day of School title and the Frame Edith and applied gesso to both of these before using gelatos to create some cool effects.
On the title I have used a combination of the colours in the layout, yellow, green & blue and blended them into each other to create this gradient effect.

I have just used the yellow & green gelatos on the frame to
 create a blended two-toned effect.

On the above close-up you can also see one of the two Groovy flowers from the last release. I have simply inked these in black to add to my flower cluster. I have also used on of the 2012's from the pack and inked it in black as well to compliment the brighter colours.

For my next layout, The Year that Was, I have created a double layout to highlight our year.

These titles are perfect for this type of layout! The Year That Was and The Year in Summary as well as the 2012's again (these are also available for other years here.)

The Year that Was title and the arrow from the 12 x 12 Arrows Pack, I have dabbed with texture paste and then inked over both in green ink.

I have also used a gorgeous hot air balloon which I have painted, outlined in black pen then coated with dimensional magic:

The year in summary and the 2012  I have simply inked as they are smaller pieces and I wanted them to be simpler than the heavily textured title and arrow.

And the final piece of chipboard on this layout is also from the Arrows Pack -
the 4 corners which I have covered with co-ordinating patterned paper
and added a hand drawn border in black pen.

And finally this layout I created for a class at All About Scrapbooks last month, using the
Enjoy this Moment, this moment is your Life title
and the fabulous 1 inch hexagons and 1.5 inch hexagons.

The title has been cut to suit the design on my layout and both pieces inked. The hexagons I had a lot of fun covering with lots of different washi tapes, they are a fun way to cover chipboard!

Well that is all from me this month.
