Some Mixed Media
Plus Dare to be Different
Alternative Christmas Colours....
By Di Garling

Hello again 2 Crafty fans. I can't believe it is a month since I was here.
Where is the time going? Almost Christmas again.

First up today I would like to show you this layout I did
the other day. I have used lots of mediums,
stencilling (I love this script stencil),
misting, stamping, more misting & lots of inking too.
I was very happy how this background turned out.

First up I have used a 2 Crafty chippie phrase,
"Captured Memories"
All of the chipboard on this page I firstly, gessoed to prime them,
next I painted them all with a gold paint dauber.
When dry I simply sponged on a little aqua paint to create
a "patina" effect. You know, like aged copper or bronze.

In this pic you can see I have used a "Tiny Kathleen's Frame".

On my layout I have used an  Tahnyah's 11" Border as well as a
Tahnyah's 6" Border. I just cut them both in half, &
offset them on my page so that they
peeked out through my flower clusters.
I so love these two pieces. So beautifully fine & delicate.

Most of these gorgeous flowers are from Green Tara.

Now for some Christmas!!!!

I thought I would do some alternative Christmas colours on this layout.
Again I have done a mixed media background & I have stencilled
some snowflakes. I have also put "Stickles" glitter on
absolutely everything. Unfortunately you
can't really see it in these pics!!

This gorgeous title, "Merry & Bright" is one of many from the
2 Crafty range. This phrase  has simply been painted
in a white acrylic paint & then I have applied
a generous amount of "Diamond Dust" to add some
 great texture & sparkle.

Again all the flowers , ribbon, lace & Crystal Sprays are from Green Tara.

In this pic you can see these gorgeous "Blitzen" Reindeer.
These are just so beautiful. I love their flourish type antlers.
Again I have used yet another "Henri's Tiny Frame".
These are definitely one of my faves.

All of my chipboard on this layout I have simply painted white,
then I have followed that with a light coat of
"Irredescent Medium" to add some shimmer.
Next I have randomly dabbed "Stickles" glitter on to
add lots of sparkle.

Last piece of chippie on this layout is one from a pack of
"Scalloped Circle Frames".
These come four in a pack.
Again I have painted it & then dabbed lots of gesso on
which sort of looks a bit like snow. Then I finished off
with a generous amount of "Diamond Dust" to add lots
of sparkle.

"Some Christmas Cards"

Some of you may have seen these Christmas Cards that I made
last week for my December Card Classes at my shop.
Again I thought I would do an alternate colour scheme.
I loooooove this lime foil paper from SEI.
So shimmery but it is hard to see that in these pics.

Firstly all these "Merry Christmas" words are from 2 Crafty.
I like the dimension they give a card .So much nicer than just a stamp.

On all these cards I have use little chippie pieces from a
"Christmas Assortment" pack that 2 Crafty make.
It has nine different pieces in it & they are the perfect size
for cards or for embellishments on a scrapbook layout.

On this first card I have used the little "Holly" from this pack.

On this second card I have used a little "Christmas Tree"
 from the same pack.

On this card I have used the "Snowflake" which again is
from the pack too.

Well thats it for me today, thanks so much for calling by.
I hope you all have a fabulous Christmas. I'll see you back
here again at the same time next month.

miss all the beautiful creations that  all the
