My October 2crafty shares - Linda

Hi everyone, thanks so much for dropping by the 2crafty blog today.
It's Monday here of a long weekend, so I am going to enjoy that extra day of not having to go to work & hopefully squeeze in some extra scrapping:)

I'm going to share 3 layouts with you today...showcasing some different techniques for your 2crafty chipboard....

The first one is
"Magical Memories"

I've used 5 different 2crafty pieces on this one....Parisian Border, Tattered Heart, Magical Memories title, Cutesy Dragonfly, Mini Key set & a tiny ATC Butterfly

For the Tattered Heart, I've given it a coat of gesso before adding texture paste mixed with paint & then dabbing it over the heart. I've then dabbed some gesso here & there for a bit more effect & added the little ATC Butterfly

Here you can get a better idea of the whole cluster

The same technique was used for the Magical Memories title ...as well as the gorgeous &am intricate Parisian Border ....except it just has a few more paint colours dabbed over for more of a vintage type of effect.

Here you can see the Cutesy Dragonfly & one of the keys from the Mini Key set (the little lock from the set is tucked into the side of the main cluster, which is a bit hard to see). I used a slightly different technique with the Dragonfly....by giving it 2 different coats of colour & then wiping off some of the top colour to show the underneath colour...this is really effective with the texture paste.

Ok, next layout...
"Smith O'Brien's Cottage"

For the gorgeous Corner Whispy Vine, I've added some sand to my paint to give a little texture, then dabbed gesso here & there to add a bit more depth

And the same technique was applied for the Chickenwire panel...which I have cut up into a few pieces  placed around so they are poking out from behind my photo & doilies.

The Delicate Butterfly & ATC Butterflies have been coated in Tim Holtz Distress Crackle paint & then ink rubbed in to highlight the crackles...and again, a bit of gesso here & there, plus some pearls added to the bodies.

Another small piece of Chickenwire popping out of the top cluster.

And lastly, the Mini Fob Watch was first coated in gesso & then inked in brown with a few dabs of gesso added here & there. (it is amazing the colour difference that is achieved when a coat of gesso is added before inking, rather than inking straight onto the chipboard piece)

Ok, my last layout was created with my DT kit for The Scrapbook Store, so you may have already seen this one around the traps :)

"A Family Affair"

Using one of the gorgeous Butterfly Frames & a pretty little Flower Spurt

Here you can see the Flower Spurt - coated in gesso that was mixed with a bit of texture paste & then painted with Glimmermist

And the same technique for the Butterfly Frame...with a few pearls added onto his body.

Well, that is all I have for you today, but if you'd like to see some more of my 2crafty creations, then I'd love you to pop over to my BLOG

I hope you have been inspired :)
Until next time...Happy Scrapping.
