"Add Some Sparkle"
By Natalie Wolfe

Hi everyone

This week I wanted to share with you how I add a little sparkle to my 2 Crafty chipboard pieces.

First, paint the chipboard with acrylic paint (I have used Titan Buff colour) and allow to dry.  You then need a product called Golden Pearl Mica Flakes.  This is a product by one of my favourite companies, Golden, which is tiny little flakes of mica suspended in a gel medium.  The product actually looks quite unattractive to look at in the jar - sort of like a lumpy paste.  Not very inspiring.  But when you take this lumpy paste and add it randomnly to the top of your painted chipboard, then wait for it to dry - it turns into something really quite beautiful.  The "paste" part goes clear and what you are left with is the gorgeous natural subtle sparkle of the mica left behind.  Truly wonderful.

Here is my layout using two of 2 Crafty's latest designs - Rosie's Corner and Shirley's Frame (small) - which have been finished using this technique.

Thanks for looking!
